As parents, do you allow your children to believe in Santa Claus?
We do. And unfortunately, we were just told by our oldest daughter that she knew the big jolly man at the North Pole (not Peter's either) was not real. She knew this LAST YEAR but didn't tell us. She informed us that her best friend told her.

Our youngest still believes. And now our oldest is "in" with us on continuing to make it fun for my youngest. Yes, it is a "lie" but I honestly don't see the harm in tradition with something that is meant to be very sincere, innocent and often "magical" for children to experience.

I'm not a Pagan, so no, I wouldn't do that.

I told my kids that Santa is fake. Also told them they won’t ever be shite in life, so might as well get over it now

In the sense that fairy tails are lies. However some fairy tales/fables can have very teachable lessons.

Santa Clause is real, just not in the way they believe. Parents are Santa Clause, that is what I told them. Fun thing is one day they get to be Santa.

My kids are 18 and 15 and neither has ever professed a disbelief in Santa. I think they know better than to disrupt the gravy train.

Wait, is it now a thing to deny Santa to your kids?

Our rule was and is Santa is real and when you stop believing you stop receiving so, if you don't believe you best keep it to yourself.

It's a harmless little lie that retains a bit of magic in children's lives , no harm.

If its not your culture I guess I get it but some people refuse to celebrate Santa because they see it as a lie to their kids. As my father use to say the spirit of Santa Claus is as real as you make it.

Yes I don't mind my kids believing in Santa.

Although, when I stop and think about it, teaching my kids that they just have to be good and a magic man will bring them free shite kinda flies against the core of real-life philosophy that I want to teach them.

Hmm...

Bingo.

I hope my children, when they get older, are able to experience the joy of seeing their little ones run down the stairs on Christmas morning or have them come storming into their room to wake them up saying "Santa was here!"

Seeing them and their family sit under the tree, watching their small faces lit with Christmas lights - that's a tremendous and heartfelt experience. And the gifts, as parents, become insignificant because the real gift as a parent is sitting right there in front of you.

St. Nick is real and we perpetuate his work. Our kids will likely do the same for their kids...
