3 primary residences but only owned the one currently in free and clear. Also have a couple of other properties (beach place and college condo for kid) that are owned outside of the taxes and HOA fees.

Six.

Three personal homes, designed myself and built. Mortgage on the first, paid off in 7-8 years I think it was. Mortgage on the 2nd till I sold the first. Mortgage on the 3rd till I sold the 2nd. Still have the mortgage on the last one I bought this year. Sitting on the cash till after the election. Moved to be closer to kids twice.

Three homes bought and resold for profit. Never owed a cent on these.

First, it’s lien, not lean…… Second, that is not how any of it works……Most states hold a tax sale where somebody pays the taxes and they accrue interest on what has to be redeemed. Then, depending on the state, you have two years to redeem it before a tax deed is issued.

I’m pretty sure he meant that no matter the process, IF the government has ANY means of depriving you of your property (without due compensation), you don’t actually own it.

2

first one in '99 at 6.75%, sold and made 65K

second in 2012 at 2.75%

next move when her parents die will be out of this shithole state. Looking to get out of the south and humid/hurricane weather. WY, West NC, East TN, or WV (east) are possibilities. Yes I know the hurricane hit NC/TN, but it was an anomaly.

Twice, for me. Built my first house around the age of 24. Stayed in it for 8 years. Lived with my then in-laws because we wanted a larger house in a better public school district, and were expecting our first child. We sold shortly after Katrina hit. Interest rate was 6.875 % on a 30-year loan. My current house, I've been in it for almost 16 years. Refinanced nearly 3 years ago due to a divorce. 2.5 % on a 15-year loan. I'm curious how many times many of you have moved around --- and do you see yourself staying where you currently are at until the end? I'd like to think that I will move out of state eventually (though I don't want an interest rate that is nearly 3 x higher than what I currently have). The older I get, I become more and more aware that there are plenty of other areas of the country that offer a much better quality of lifestyle, including weather, crime, opportunities, and scenery.

This will be my 4th house and I’ll be closing on it Nov. 1st.

Built my first house at 25 in Charlotte NC, 2nd House in Baton Rouge, 3rd house Baton Rouge and 4th in Spring Texas.

The 3rd house sucked to leave because I had a 2.6% interest rate and there was nothing left to do to the house and it was 3 years old

I’m 43 and I’ll probably be in this house for 5-10 years and build one or two last custom homes if I had to imagine.

We’re in the 5th house we’ve owned and will be here another 3+ years until our daughter graduates high school.

After that, we’ve talked about getting a place in East Texas, North Georgia, or North Tennessee…but travel a lot in an RV. We will likely be in that house for quite some time.
