According to the affidavit, Reynolds had called several fraternity pledges to his off-campus home saying “hope you’re ready to get hammered if you pull up.”

Police say Reynolds then instructed the pledges to finish all the alcohol given to them and wouldn’t let them leave until they had. Witnesses told police that Reynolds kept bringing out more alcohol, saying they hadn’t finished the previous bottles fast enough.

Text messages obtained by police show Reynolds saying that at least 10 pledges were “blackout” and needed rides.

After designated drivers had come to pick up the drunken pledges, one of the pledges (identified only as Victim 1) was taken to the hospital by members of the fraternity.

According to hospital staff, Victim 1 was unresponsive and had “pink frothy foam” coming from his mouth and nose, indicating organ failure. An initial toxicology screening showed he had a .451 blood alcohol level, close to six times the legal limit.

Victim 1 was immediately put on life support and later taken to the ICU for treatment.

He definitely hazed them but the kid went to the hospital because of Xanax that the girl forced him to take after he was already blackout. The Xanax is what almost killed him.

0.45 is deadly all on it's own.

Whats the story with this?

She hung herself because she thought she had killed the pledge with the Xanax?

Most charts you google to see what you’d need to drink to get there don’t even get close to that unless you weigh only 100 pounds but even then it only gets to like .3

But if groups of college kids were prosecuted for peer pressure alcohol incidents in the same manner fraternities are, the results would be pretty similar, I reckon.

I don't think this is correct. The greek kids are trying to join a club and would naturally feel like they need to comply with what a current member of said club wants them to do. There is no correlation for other groups of college kids outside of sports and maybe band. Your average kid on the street has no similar experience of this type.

I think there is a pretty stark difference in peer pressure alcohol incidents and the "forced" drinking in these hazing incidents. While I do agree alcohol related incidents are rampant at most colleges, I don't know that it's common among the general student body to lock peers in a room and force them to drink ridiculous amounts of alcohol under the threat of being banished from that group if they refuse to do so.

Are you a doctor? Stop giving out uneducated, untrue information. You nothing about Xanax or this situation. Pretty sure it was the alcohol that was 6 times the legal limit that was the problem.

So which OT Greek alum is going to be the first to defend hazing?

Not defending it, but the reason these things get so out of hand is because schools have cracked down so hard that hazing that fairly harmless hazing would've been done somewhat in the open has been concentrated into these short high intensity events. Same as drinking.

She was also on it. Xanax when taken a high doses makes you do very harmful things to yourself. So yes she felt like she killed him because the entire fraternity and her friends were telling her that she killed him.

Pussies. Back when I fratted hard we weren't even allowed in the house to start the party unless we blew at least a .455.
Those are rookie numbers. You need to pump those numbers up in this game.
