Why does it have to be something they did to me? Just because John Wayne Gacy didn't rape you, do you not find him vile for what he did to others?
Most cops are absolutely ignorant of the laws and Constitution that they are supposed to be protecting. That's my biggest problem with them. And then there's the fact that they think hurting their feelings is against the law. You've still got cops arresting people for giving them the finger. An absolute violation of first amendment rights. And the taxpayers end up footing the bill from the lawsuit. All because a cop can't handle the fact that not everyone likes them.
A few years ago my grandmother was returning home with her sister. She was driving down the main road where she turns off into her neighborhood. She could see there were cops up the road but the turn into her neighborhood was well before it. She turns into her neighborhood as usual and parks in her garage. Some cop then immediately pulls up behind them and starts screaming that my grandmother was evading a roadblock. Keep in mind the dumbass had to have seen the garage door opening and my grandmother pulling in. My grandmother tells him she was wasn't evading anything and that this her house. He told her that didn't matter and he proceeded to make an unlawful traffic stop. It's not evading anything when you have no reason to proceed toward a road block. The entrance to her neighborhood came before reaching it. But that doesn't matter to the tatted up tyrants.
Then of course you've got the very recent example of the NYPD cop not giving a shite that an illegal migrant set an elderly lady on fire.
And then of course they enforced the unconstitutional covid mandates. So yeah, I'm not sure why you think anyone should pity them.

That’s a terrible experience for your grandmother to go through.
Also sad and failure of moral courage on part of the individual NYPD cop (out of the 34k plus that work there). Just today there was an evil human slashing folks on subway who NYPD jumped on in a flash…just days apart but do you recognize their actions?
It your anger towards LEO as an entirety (over 600k in US) is over your grandma’s situation and cherry picked violations by cops along the way, then you will never find peace friend.

Do you believe the law should apply to everyone equally?
A cop in my state of Florida got spooked when an acorn fell on his vehicle and he just started shooting wildly in all directions. No criminal charges were filed against him. What do you think would happen to me or anyone else if we got spooked by a falling tree nut and responded the same way? We'd be facing multiple charges and likely be prohibited from ever owning a firearm again. Why should cops get a pass when they violate the law and endanger the public?

Dex Morgan thread is always an automatic downvote for me.
Dude posts threads like this and wants to take sides immediately. The smart thing to do is wait until the entire story comes out.
My favorite part is how he always inserts random shite, like some cop in the same state did dumb shite four years ago, and tries to make it relevant to the original discussion.

My fan club keeps growing. I find it it all quite amusing. I don't stalk specific members nor do I keep any mental notes of the sort of content they post. I just scroll past threads that don't interest me.
Look at the like/dislike ratio on this thread. You are very much in the minority in your position on cops. And I'd say it's safe to say that this board leans conservative. Many conservatives no longer give blanket support to law enforcement. Especially after covid and what law enforcement has done to Trump and other conservatives.

Where in the post did I state my position on cops. Out of the thousands of cops in the US, I’m sure there’s many that are great and upstanding folks, and many that are dumb pieces of shite that abuse their privileges. That’s why I tend to wait and see before rushing to judge and getting oUtTaGeD on the internet.

Of course…I’m sure 99% of
folks agree on that.
Bad cops should be held fully accountable for breaking the law and public trust.
Thankfully the majority of American LEOs do the right thing.
As someone who has spent way too much time in other BFE countries, there is no expectation of being treated fairly by their versions of LEO.

This is why some people hate the police. Some police are ignorant tyrants with no respect for the Constitution or their constituents.
Fixed it for you.
The police in the story linked by the OP certainly are ignorant tyrants.

I had the right to remain silent but I did not have the ability.

You'll find a lot of small town sheriff's departments are pretty trashy.
Low standards for hiring, little to no educational requirements; just shitty all-round.
