She didn't have a place to pull over safely. That's why she slowed down and put on hazards, she was in the right lane clearly looking for the first safe spot to pull over - which is what any sane police officer will tell you to do .

The cop deserves to be fired, and honestly press charges on him as well. There was zero reason for that maneuver at that time.
There wasn't any traffic on the road. The driver was not driving erratically, placing other people at risk. The driver did not have a warrant for their arrest. This isn't a wanted criminal who's murdered someone previously.
The cop is a dickhead, and the lady is lucky to be alive because of the dickhead(I hope the unborn baby was ok and is healthy and thriving right now).

Even in the article you posted, it said she was going 60 once he cut on the lights. Now tell me, what hardened criminal trying to get away from the law drive below the speed limit, with their hazards on in the left lane, while following all traffic laws.

The problem is cops are trained to view every citizen they encounter as a threat. If you hear him he’s trying to claim “I didn’t know what you were doing in the vehicle.” Which is a BS excuse.

One thing that needs to be addressed is that interstate level highways should be required to have sufficient shoulders.

My kneejerk is always to agree with this.
The fly in the ointment is if you take away qualified immunity to 1983 actions then the governmental agencies who employ LEOs either have to cover the cost of the insurance or pay officers enough to afford the liability insurance.
It would be less of an issue if the agencies would actually fire them when they seriously frick up. I understand the Blue Line mentality but year by year it breaks down the trust and respect for all LEOs. The "few bad apples" argument is falling on more and more deaf ears. No matter what traditional back the blue mentality you were taught it becomes harder and harder to hang on to, or at least it does for me.
