How can a "literal, 24hour day" exist when the Sun and Moon weren't created until the 4th day? You make this easy bud
Don’t forget that Genesis 1 and 2 contradict themselves in chronology unless you say that the KJV is a poor translation and stretch an alternate translation past the point of credulity

Well, lets apply what we do know
* The earth has a molten core
* That core has caused multiple eruptions over time
* Super heated water turns to steam
* Steams cools in the atmosphere and turns to water, which is then impacted by gravity
* The process of heated water, cooling, and then raining is known as the water cycle
translation: There was an underground ocean of water between the molten core and the Earths crust. Over time (who knows how long) the water became super-heated and forced cracks in the surface. That water then returned as rain. For 40 days according to the narrative
As a result, clouds became a thing, the water cycle was initiated, and the Earths crust was massively altered by the eruption, as well as the force of rushing water to the lowest possible point. Gravity again
Therefore you get the continents looking like jigsaw pieces on a map. And many, many traceable elements of humankind arising from the Fertile Crescent, the area where the ark was recorded to have landed. Elements such as permanent residences, language and writing, domestication of animals, barter systems and trade, agriculture, irrigation, metallurgy, libraries compiling knowledge, etc. Thats why its called the 'Cradle of Civilization"
Holy.
fricking.
shite.

I’ll just be blunt. Who gives a frick what some book says written in a language you can’t read.
The evidence says otherwise. So adapt or fail.

Because it makes zero sense.
Just curious, what do you agree with about Catholicism if you claim to be Catholic?

I was raised Catholic. It’s not something I think about or believe in any appreciable way
Cultural Catholics is a thing.
Cultural Catholics is a thing.

A god who would torture someone for all eternity because they “mocked” him is a small, petty god unworthy of anything but mockery.
Also, I get the feeling that the thought of it gives you at least a small chubby.

Same. I also just tell an old guy in a booth every decade “I’m sorry”

I’m not sure why people raise their eyebrows at this more than they do at cultural Jews. I know Jews who are atheists, yet keep kosher. Not a big deal.

Genesis is biblical allegorical poetry. Literal interpretation is just silly

Why can’t we just accept that we don’t know what happened tens of thousands of years ago and call it a day? Christian, Muslim, it doesn’t matter. I honestly believe the Bible, and the Koran were written about things that could have happened, but at the end of the day both were passed down to try to help humanity survive. I’d like to think religion and science can coexist in our world.
