Theoretically we could be, I personally believe we are not however. The bible talks about the throne of heaven and all creatures and angels being there in numbers that are finite, but are unimaginable to us.

Religion which a vast majority of the Earth's population follows in some form. Most modern day religions do not have paradigm that can support the existence of something more than man as we know it.

I can’t speak for any religion other than Christianity. But as far as I know there’s nothing in the Bible about us being the only life in the universe.
