I can take off whenever I want and make good enough money and have gotten to live in New Orleans right out of school so I can't complain. But I the actual work i do is very boring to me and I will be moving on at some point or work "part time" where i take on less work each month and go back to school or something.

5 - years, about to finish up a professional certification in this field that is been a 3 year process so am not getting out until i finish that up - will be looking to move to a related industry, or go back to school or something once that is complete this spring. Always wanted to go for a PHD and I think that working part time / taking on less monthly work here while going to school will allow me to pursue that dream.

I honestly don't know if I love anything that could truly be a dream job (that is realistic). I don't have a lot of passions that translate to a job that don't require some type of immense talent

I wish I did, feels like it would make life a lot easier

This isn't my dream job by far, but I've had worse jobs. This is the least stressful job I've ever had, so it will help me to make it to retirement without having a heart attack.

Working my "dream job" but realized after a number of years it is like any other type of work. I basically set my own hours and do some pretty amazing things, but I also get bored and non motivated at times. The flexibility allows me to dabble in a number of other areas and side ventures and meet some pretty interesting people, while the pay fluctuates pretty wildly. I won't be leaving any time soon unless there were a guarantee of a lot more money somewhere that would lessen my travel burden, but I do not see that in the future.

Just walked out of my job of 2 years today. It barely paid the bills. Don't really know what my dream job is so I will likely pursue an electrical or plumbers apprenticeship program to become certified and have a future. I am pretty young so plenty of time.

I work to pay for the things I love. There isn't a job out there is love.

I make more money than I ever imagined and have a lot of freedom, but I really do not enjoy my job. Once I get my youngest through college and hit a certain number in savings I will quit. Then I will finally have the time to figure what my dream job is and determine if I am still capable doing it.

What are you people doing for careers? I'm asking because I need ideas because I have the imagination of a brick and closed-minded family

I am working the job I was created to do.

I love everything about it EXCEPT for having to deal with the occasional laziness of my one employee. As far as my daily responsibilities, I love it. I will never retire as long as I have the strength to show up to work.

No weekend work.
No boss.
Great income.
Wonderful satisfaction.

Dream job. Could leave any day for more $ potentially, but it's really great. 7 years, had a few not-so-awesome years there, but now, it's great. Could change tomorrow, though. Just enjoying today.

Mostly working to live, but I enjoy my job so it doesn't really feel like work.
