People that "get the flu from the shot" probably wait until the flu is ridiculously rampant to get vaccinated. You need a few weeks to develop immunity. Probably contracted the flu at work, a game, church, stores, etc.

Hey low IQ person....,the flu shot didn’t give you the flu.

The shot isn’t 100% effective, everyone knows this. So it’s possible to be vaccinated and still get the flu.

Again though.....so all the idiots in this thread can read it one more time.....YOU CANNOT GET THE FLU FROM THE FLU SHOT.

Never had a flu shot. Also never had the flu. I'm going to ride this strategy out.

Same strategy works for seat belts.

You're correct, you can't get the flu from a flu shot.

But it is our immune response that makes us feel like shite, not the virus itself. And that can be triggered by a flu shot because our body doesn't know the difference.

So what is the point of a shot that can still make you feel like shite and isn't 100% effective? Unless you have a weak immune system or work around those who do, a flu shot isn't necessary.

I've never had a flu shot and on the rare occasion I get the flu I'm over it in a day or two. In the last 20 years I've maybe gotten the flu 2-3 times.

The other guy got sick a month after getting the flu shot. That has nothing to do with the flu shot and everything to do with it being high respiratory virus season.

Flu kills, we as a society have seemed to have forgotten that it does. It kills otherwise healthy people every season. We have developed something, that while not perfect, gives you better odds of not getting something that can potentially kill you. And yet people still scoff at it.

Yes the shot isn't 100% effective. It can't protect against EVERY strain of flu out there. But studies have shown that those that got the flu shot and still got the flu that season...typically had a much more minor version of the illness compared to someone who didn't get the flu shot.

Anyone around old people, babies, children, the sick, and those that cannot get vaccines for true medical reasons should get a flu shot to protect those vulnerable groups. So...basically everyone.

If you are a parent and you are not getting a flu shot...just know...you could be the reason why your child gets the flu. 172 children in the U.S. died last year from the flu. I bet many of those otherwise healthy children. We already know 80% of those kids did not receive the flu shot.

If I was a parent that alone would motivate me to get a flu shot and to make sure my children got it.

My Dr. is big on pushing the Flu and Shingles vaccine on just about every visit but I don't bite.

I can't recall the last time I actually had a case of the flu. I do get sinus issues from the tons of oak trees in my area in the spring, but haven't even had a cold in years.

One of my biggest concerns about some of these vaccines is the off chance, even though it is extremely small, of getting GBS, and that is not a very nice thing to deal with.

My step-son came down with that in Feb. of 05 and it wasn't until August, right before Katrina hit that he was even able to walk again.

Look it up. It is some nasty shite.
