Yep. Seen several people die from the flu. Getting the shot is worth a decent chance of preventing that. And it's not like the shot gives you the flu, despite what some people think.

Yes, already got it. I think it was the extra strength one for older people. First time, after having the flu in April. Shingles shot next in December after having shingles in June. I’m batting a thousand this year!!!

I won’t buy homeowners insurance until after my house burns down.

Viruses are semi intelligent and easily confused by unconventional looks and actions. Wear a shark fin on your head. Walk backward. Do unconventional things and the viruses will get confused and they won’t attack you.

No vaccines either ! I wear a thin sheen of tinfoil under my clothes anyway, and it’s never failed me. I just have to be careful if I get too close to a microwave.

Already got mine. They were giving them out when I went to the ophthalmologist so I went ahead and got it.

I'll wait a little bit so the vaccine flu strain can be more accurate based on what strain is most prominent during flu season.

I never get the shot. And I normally get the flu.

I'll figure out the solution one of these days.

This isn't how it works.

Is the flu vaccine dead vaccine or live?

This is how they determine what viruses to cover in the upcoming flu season vaccine.

LINK

quote:

Twice a year, the World Health Organization (WHO) organizes a consultation with the Directors of the WHO Collaborating Centers, essential regulatory laboratories and representatives of key national laboratories and academies. They review the results of surveillance, laboratory, and clinical studies, and the availability of vaccine viruses and make recommendations on the composition of the influenza vaccine. These meetings take place in February for selection of the upcoming Northern Hemisphere’s seasonal influenza vaccine and in September for the Southern Hemisphere’s vaccine. WHO recommends specific vaccine viruses for inclusion in influenza vaccines, but then each country makes their own decision about which viruses should be included in influenza vaccines licensed in their country.

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) makes the final decision about vaccine viruses for influenza vaccines to be sold in the U.S. Information about circulation of influenza viruses and available vaccine viruses is summarized and presented to an advisory committee of the FDA in February each year for the U.S. decision about which viruses to include in the upcoming season’s vaccine.

They are attenuated. LINK

quote:

Viruses are often attenuated (weakened) by growing them in cells that they don’t normally grow in for many generations. The viruses begin to evolve and adapt to these new cells so that they are less able to live in their preferred environment. Therefore, when attenuated viruses enter the human host, they are not able to reproduce and create disease like they would naturally.
