Suicide takes courage, I have always admired the ones who take their lives into their own hands.

I do have some requirements.

1. You cant have children, you have to live for your children.

That is about it.

What say the OT?

So, the elderly that have a terminal illness… the ones that are most likely to use it…. Can’t use it because their kids are now adults with kids?

No. It’s a slippery slope.

Unfortunately, the philosophical argument for the right to die can also end up colliding with troubling decisions in a country where the government funds and controls access to healthcare. That is reportedly happening in Canada, where some citizens say health officials are actively encouraging people with disabilities and other chronic medical issues to consider suicide.

The very old or those suffering from sever dementia etc yes. It’s horrendous what some people go through at the end of their lives.

Requirement not to, if you are elderly, you have already raised your children.

Yeah, it appears he put about as much thought into this post as he does with most of the drivel that comes from his keyboards.

Not for it, just don't know how you would really stop it. Kinda like making suicide illegal, OK.

If someone doesn't want to live anymore and they are in a situation where their future will be extremely grim, I don't think other people should tell them they can't end their life.

Now if we are talking about someone in their 30s who is struggling with depression and in a tough period in their life they decide they want to kill themselves I think they need to seek help.

I don't see why having children would factor into the equation. If you are terminally ill and unable to work, you're effectively a drain on society's resources, and likely will burn any inheritance, leaving those kids in a worse situation then if you'd just taken yourself out early on.

If someone is at the point where they are terminally ill, with no viable prognosis to get better, then I would support their actions entirely.

Because children are your responsibility, maybe I should say young children. You suck it up as long as you can.

Way too dystopian for me, like we're all living in Children of Men.

8 billion people in this world. When one person dies <0.000000011% (at most) of the people on this planet will miss that person for more than a day. The amount of energy one person consumes in a single day far out weights their contributions to humanity. Therefore, mathematically speaking anyone who doesn't want to be on this planet should be assisted in leaving it.

You can always just do it yourself. Cut out the expensive middle man.

Absolutely

Those with incurable excruciating cancer pain with no relief should be able to die with dignity at their own choosing rather than suffering just to suffer

Seeing an aunt begging to die due to her being in so much pain was something I’ll sadly never forget . Luckily she passed not long after .
