Likewise, all introverts don't eschew all social interaction - it's just that they have to expend energy to do so, so they are more choosey and tend to select folks they prefer or at least small groups, if they have a choice at all. Introverts recharge their social energy by being alone.
I'm a good example of this. Hell I was the Social Chair for my fraternity and I'm about as introverted as you can get.

Extreme extrovert, but I love being alone. If that makes sense. I flourish in social settings meaning I can talk to anyone about anything and have a smile on my face while doing it, but deep down prefer to just chill on my couch with my dog watching HBO. I secretly can't stand most people..
I feel like I'm the same way. I can strike a convo with any person but I would rather not. I enjoy being alone

Also, this is probably bad, but drinking really makes me have fun with people more. Like, I won't go to a social function where I have to small talk a bunch of strangers unless there's booze (or its required for work).
Our friendship grows with each and every post
Let's have a few beers, meet up, have a few more beers, then laugh at all the people socializing around us
I like girls btw

Are you an extrovert or introvert?

On the subway today, a man came up to me to start a conversation. He made small talk, a lonely man talking about the weather and other things. I tried to be pleasant and accommodating, but my head hurt from his banality. I almost didn't notice it had happened, but I suddenly threw up all over him. He was not pleased, and I couldn't stop laughing.

I always thought a main component (among others) of introversion/extroversion was how people go about solving their problems.
So an introvert only consults himself or a small number of people when coping with his problems and doesn't really publicize it, while an extrovert likes to tell everyone his problem and solves it out loud and with the help of others, rather than himself.

Isn't this just a meaningless distinction used mostly to fill out psych text books and buzz feed quizzes? Everybody is going to have traits of both.

Possibly, but most people will lean one way or another. Again, I can function quite well socially. I just prefer not to be around people. I absolutely hate going shopping, being in crowds, etc.
I know other people who are the exact opposite and will go batshit insane if they're alone and not socially engaged with people over an extended period of time.

Introvert and reserved, I'm just more comfortable when alone and keeping others at a distance. I need therapy.

I am an extrovert but I do need a fair amount of downtime. My senses can get a bit overloaded in large groups, and I get lost in the crowd. I have ADHD, so that is a bit of it, large groups means lots of stimulus and thus I go from person/conversation to conversation.

It's cool and edgy to be an introvert. Check any dating website.

I hate how people on the internet act like all introverts are recluse autistic weirdos
