My buddy who is one of the best salesmen I have ever seen would no doubt score 40/40
I was pretty high in 5 of the 7 traits but "vanity" and "exhibitionism". This dude is vain as can be.

Most influential people throughout history would probably score above a 30 on this. Does having confidence now = being a narcissist? If so, I'd rather be confident than the alternative.

Confidence is not what this was measuring. One can be confident of their abilities and not be a narcissist.

Actually answered truthfully and scored a 19. Thought I might be higher. Some questions I could have went with either answr depending on my mood for the day.

It has nothing to do with an indication of lack of confidence and more to do with over confidence where it's not warranted, such as a salesman who scores above a 30 on that test.
I scored an 8 but am supremely confident in my skills in my field and my ability to make the correct choices for my family general. I am not, though, a know-it-all who thinks everyone should like me, wants to hear me blather on and wants my attention.
