Loud ones I'm referring to are not in government, but I agree tho. Government officials are selfish as all hell.

My earnings as well.

But I would venture to say selfishness is a bigger problem from the louder/liberal voting blocs... not mostly officials. Human nature is a b.

We do, but at the same time we who w
ere born and raised in this country don't really take full advantage of the opportunities we were blessed with. A legal immigrant will work ten times as hard for the opportunity they have.

Financial 101: if you don't have the money in the bank don't write the check.

Yet our US government prints millions of dollars a day and doesn't have the money to cover it. We have a social security system that will go broke in the next decade. All the hardworking people pay into this system every paycheck yet our government chooses to ignore it. We have more people than ever not even seeking employment because the entitlement government assistance is too good. You tell me who the selfish ones are?

Americans used to be the most hated tourists in every country on earth.

Now the Chinese have that on lockdown.

Chinese tourists warned over bad behaviour overseas

China's deputy PM says tourists spitting, speaking loudly and other 'uncivilised behaviour' is damaging country's reputation

Wang Yang, one of China's four deputy prime ministers, said that while other countries had welcomed Chinese tourism, the quality of some travellers was not high.

He said: "They speak loudly in public, carve characters on tourist attractions, cross the road when the traffic lights are still red, spit anywhere and [carry out] some other uncivilised behaviour. It damages the image of the Chinese people and has a very bad impact."

I don't know about selfish cause we contribute far too much to unnecessary foreign affairs. But we are the newest nation thats the most phony, built on lies, British knock off, diveded, segregated, easily enticed/influenced/lied to, ignorant....! Yeah, yeah, yeah! Cal me out but if the US were to hit a nation changing event, the world would probably change a dramatic bit.

EXACTLY

I am sick of this "Well bernie is a kook but he is a good honest man" horse shite.

Income redistribution is just another power grab.

"Oh that is so noble." Well guess who gets to decide how it is redistributed.

The idea of someone who has never held a real job and could not provide a service anyone would pay for telling someone else they make too much is galling.

We have created a culture in this country that encourages consumerism, competition and narcissism. These are all things that feed the beast, aka the human ego, and that is a recipe for an unhealthy, selfish and deeply unhappy and jaded society. We are conditioned from birth to be good little consumers, focus on our superficial wants and needs at the expense of helping and serving others. The United States has now exported this sick, selfish society around the world. It is the opposite of the encouragement of spiritual development. The human ego is kryptonite to spiritual and social evolution of the human race. Until more of humanity wakes up and comes to realize that they have been sold a bill of goods by authority figures in their life from a young age, there will not be positive social change or peace on this planet. Thankfully, it appears that there is a sizable number of people finally waking up to this fact.

That's why all the other people in the world want to come here. We have it all...land, natural resources, opportunity.

If you got it, then flaunt it!

Selfies anyone? People go out of their way to dress up, pose, take a picture, post it on the Internet, and wait to get approvals. It's easy and it's instant gratification. But it's shallow and insecure. It doesn't tell you anything unique about yourself, your skill sets, you as a human being. However, I may be getting old and grumpy.

Good post man. However, healthy competition can be good for oneself. I'm talking about human development competition and not the "stab in the back" kind.

The answer is no. The american people donate per capita more to charity then any other country. We also donate more services. Just becuase we have a comparable lavish lifestyle doesn't mean we aren't a charitable people.
