The military is Socialist, and a lot of people seem to like and support that.

Ok, first off, Socialism is not defined by bailouts, or taxpayer money given back to the taxpayers, but Rather controlling certain aspects of the economy by the government.

Exactly. True socialism would be a government takeover of the means of production.

This needs to be explained to conservatives that label any and all Democrats as socialists.

So called "fiscal conservatives" are hypocrites when it comes to the military. They are all for a big socialist military, yet oppose other forms of socialism that would benefit non military, average, struggling American citizens.

No, I am not in favor of government owning the means of production. Are you?

frick You..I hated the idea from the start, but I turned right around and spent the money with a various small and local businesses like it was intended for.

I honestly think people who equate this one shot stimulus to be comfortable with socialism are complete imbeciles.. B/c it's like saying people getting a tax return are comfortable with socialism. It's not the same..

If you are not a net taxpayer, like most of the democrat base, then I could see your argument. However simply getting back a portion of your own money that would otherwise be spent on others is not socialism.

It's not a handout for me, it's a portion of the taxes my wife and I paid in this year coming back to us. Thanks though for trying to twist it though.

I'd be fine with economically liberal policies coupled with conservative social policies, sure.

Except for every $1 they are “giving you back”, they are spending $2 on people that don’t pay taxes. Guess where the other $2 are going to come from? (hint: it’s you the taxpayer)

The U.S. military is Publicly owned and paid for by taxpayers, who pay for several military welfare programs. Those who join the military now do so for economic reasons and the economic protection and benefits it offers. Under a capitalist system we would be hiring mercenaries instead of soldiers. By any definition the military is Socialist, and not only that, but Socialism on steroids.

Government shuts down the government to prevent old people from dying and then gives you back some of the money they stole from you = socialism?

I don’t think that’s how my civics instructor taught it but I guess I could be wrong.

frick that.

Didn’t want the stimulus to happen in the first place, but Scruffy writing a $1200 check back to the government won’t get rid of the trillions in debt they just threw at his generation.

Blame the dumbasses who wanted to shut everything down for so damn long and wanted this retardation, including Trump

Why the frick are you referring to yourself in third person? Very weird.
