To see if you’ve got a butt plug big enough inserted to go into that fricked up state.

They typically just want to know about fruit. It’s unbelievable. They stop every vehicle looking for fruit.

It's been several years, but I don't remember any big hassles.
I never went there much though.

They are mostly checking for pests/insects that could damage crops or harm livestock. If you are hauling food or animals they want to ensure you aren't bringing in an invasive species. Same if you are towing a boat, to make sure the hull is clean of zebra mussels, etc.

Wasn't hard to find in your car. It was sitting right in the driver's seat.

You can’t run a non-emissons certified truck in CA. Period. You can’t even own one anymore.

So, you can run across country,
and if you don’t run a Tier IV truck, you get to drop your load and have somone else bring it into CA.

Lots of FB groups selling non-CA compliant trucks- you can/could get some pretty good deals.

Shame for those guys- they ran some really nice gear and POOF! it was legal one day and is legal every where else in the US, bit not in your own state anymore.

I’ve heard that, but I wasn’t sure if they checked or how they checked.

Those fire trucks were probably checked then.

Also, requisite Lot Lizards questions need answers.

I read a press release from Oregon state fire marshall. He said they all passed and no trucks were turned back.
