but even so...eventually the country that dominates AI will be able to supply the rest of the world with goods and its citizens will be paid to essentially do nothing. but that is 100 years away anyways

Doubt that. We'll probably have that within the next 15-20 years.
They already do line maintenance in some places using AI and robotics. There are a frickton of companies in the robotics game now. You don't think Elon's robot won't be able to fix a plumbing issue in the near future?

not within a couple decades i dont unless the rate at which they advance changes drastically.

What do you mean? Look at robotics expos and competitions from just 2 years ago vs today. If you don't think humanoid robots are coming for trades jobs in the relatively near future, you have no idea what's going on in that space.

i have i still dont see it. not to mention the license that it takes. that will be fought for a long time.
but sorry it going to be a long arse time before i see a humanoid being able to diagnose problems. the lack of senses is the issue imo

I hope you've lent Elon your expertise on this issue. Might be too late as he's already shutdown multiple Tesla production lines in favor of Optimus.

production lines are different we have had there for a long time.
im talking being able to crawl under a house and diagnose a problem and fix it. I just think we are a long ways off from that.
if that makes me an idiot so be it
i do think humanoids will handle lots of other things in about a decade or 15 years but I dont see the trades angle for a while
now like welders in a fab shop...yea laser tube cutters and auto welders are coming for a lot of that. I was talking trouble shooting and repair work in the trades and plants.
not to mention humanoids not being intrinsically safe and other vulnerabilities that they have so it will be even longer before they are allowed in to a facility.
IRobot is a long ways away

I'm not talking about Optimus being used in production lines of vehicles. I'm talking about production lines of vehicles being discontinued and replaced with production lines producing humanoid robots.

That is rich coming from the guy whose entire contribution has been “move” and “stop whining.”
I am the one asking what the local payoff is, what resources are consumed, who pays for the infrastructure, and whether the tax incentives are justified.
All I've gotten is angry responses from people like yourself. Other than being an edge lord, I have no idea what your motivation is on this topic.
