Everytime I drive around there, I hardly see anyone walking around. With more condos going up, you'd think there'd be more foot traffic.

They can’t build enough and yes they are occupied. The population of downtown has doubled since Katrina

I uber on the weekends and everytime I drop/pick up someone from there, it looks like a ghost town.

It’s pretty empty in that area.

I would agree with the OP. I work downtown and cut through that area often, and it does not seem like people live there at all

How the hell are so many people affording 500k+ condos with this city's shitty job market?

There aren't any tourist attractions in the area to draw a lot of foot traffic. It's usually pretty busy around 6-8 on weeknights.

You’re full of shite. The Warehouse District is hopping. It may not be full of tourist like the French Quarter but to say it’s a ghost town is just ridiculous

Open your eyes. There are a shite load of new restaurants, hotels, condos, bars, etc. the area is booming.

You’re a retard

It’s a mixture. Lots locals and out of towners have condos in the WD.

I've lived there for 3 years now. Walk everywhere and love it. At least 6 large condos/apartments going up right now that I can think of off the top of my head. New restaurants and bars opening every month including the "hottest" spots in town. Copper Vine, Auction House, Meril, Pythian Market, Seaworthy, Ace hotel, NOPSI, Troubadour, Willa Jean... list could go on much longer... Also nice to be able to walk to the Dome and SKC for games/concerts.

Got distracted; yes they're occupied that's why they're building more and rent is going up. Nola is finally catching onto the trend of downtown living.

I adore it! It’s great for the younger executives. Incidentally, my hedge fund shot through the roof today!

I had one of my hands head out at lunch to count and in fact he reported 12 Ford Trucks with factory sprayed bed liners.

Please tell your husband he was right.

So were you Mrs Martini

I was really looking at the Saulet when I moved. I should have just done the 1 bedroom but decided I’d live with my younger brother for the 1 yr and he wanted to be closer to school so we live at the end of Magazine, near Audubon. Which I love, but i should of just done the Saulet

Her husband is more than likely cheating on her. Poor thing.
