Going to take my nephew and his friends to a movie this week and really don’t want to pay a bunch of money since we prob won’t stay the whole movie anyways. Basically get some popcorn, experience the big screen, sound, etc. for about an hour or until tired.

I don't know why people are acting like you're nuts for wanting to take some kids to the dollar show.
I can remember going to the dollar show as a kid. We also went to the regular movie theater, but we'd also go to the dollar show sometimes too. Nothing wrong with it.
But as for your question, I have no idea if they still exist.

Buy 1 ticket at a real theater and sneak them in through the fire exit.

Briargrove $1 theater in Houston back in the 80's was awesome.
$1 would get you in for all the movies. Go-carts, video arcade, and putt putt across the street when you got bored of that.

Here in San Antonio we have a dollar theater. Actually 1.50. Not bad place. Go there all the time. It in a bad area. Concession is crazy expensive. So they make their money there.

Always bemused by dollar menus where everything is more than a dollar and The Dollar General where everything is more than a dollar.
Dollar Tree is still a buck but it is nothing but shite.

We had one here in Corpus Christi at Sunrise Mall. The mall is on deadmalls now. It’s a pretty cool place to walk through. They shot The Legend of Billie Jean inside of that place. It’s like walking into a time machine. The theater was one of the last places going in that mall. I think the wrecking ball is near.

Celebrity Theater usually runs 5 dollar Tuesday. Another local theater does as well.

Last time I saw a $1 movie it was Savage Weekend and the theater was on Airline Highway in Metairie or somewhere. Sometimes the seats would be sticky. That world ain’t coming back.

If they do, you will probably be able to choose between Ground Hog Day and Die Hard.

First run theaters are having to innovate to stay alive.
What makes you think second run theaters are thriving?

Since you're only going to see half of the movie, go to the second half and you won't have to pay anything.
Unless you have the bad luck to run across some little shite gunning for Ticket Usher of the Month, you should be able to just cruise in.
If you're really lucky, some sucker from an earlier feature forgot to take his half eaten popcorn bucket with him and, boom, free snacks, too!

This is still the weirdest thread ever. I laughed so hard at the OP, I had chest pains.
