There's literally no better way to put this.

I rent a car every week and I don't give a frick about it when I'm driving it and neither does anyone else. Once they get to a few thousand miles they start to stink and are just run down in general - hard pass.

Don't know if they are current with their maintenance. The last 2 rentals I've had, Enterprise, the service light came on during my trip

For your needs, probably OK.

FWIW, you can get a used Tesla dirt cheap from Hertz rn.

Ordinarily, I'd never recommend a used rental, especially from Enterprise.

True for the most part, but certainly not true for all. Some vehicles were made poorly or have bad parts. I have a 2021 Silverado with 95k miles. Don't drive it hard at all and have had regular maintenance on it. I was recently told I needed a new catalytic converter and engine replacement.

I've had no problem with Sixt. Always been great cars and service. Only time this old trucker can afford to drive a Beamer

Mid 90's and I was a few years out of college with a national company in sales and would travel a decent amount.

On the advice of another dumbass 20 something rep, the first thing we did after leaving Hertz with a Crown Vic or similar, was hit a gas station and air the tires up to 70 psi. Those things cornered like a Mustang GT and rode like your Maw-Maws living room couch. At quarterly sales conferences with 100 plus reps, there would inevitably be testosterone and liquor fueled time trials on the way back to the hotel from the restaurant.

Allegedly, a few reps were together in a similarly set up rental and took out two young palm trees in the Ricks parking lot in Houston while leaving at 3am. They went by a 24 hour Wal-Mart and were up until dawn buffing and spray painting the grill and hood damage.

To be safe, avoid 90's era crown victorias near Dallas, Chicago, and St Louis. And Houston.

Rented a 8 Series convertible and went up down PCH1 with prev Mrs Vette.

Sixt is awesome, lightyears different from shitty Enterprise.

I don't understand the logic of driving a rental any different than your own car. Same as renting a condo. If you are tearing something up simply because it's not yours, you are an a-hole.

Well yeah, but there are a lot of assholes out there. And stupid people.

People treat their rentals like shite. And I don’t care how well it’s cleaned. Owning a rental is gross. You’ve been with everyone your car has been with.

They sell a lot of inventory to dealers so there’s a chance some of you bought one and didn’t know it
