A company I looked into applying to for a job has a policy of no visible tatoos. If you have one on your arm you are are required to were a long sleeve shirt at all times. And this is not a white collar job, its driving a semi truck OTR.

Maybe I'm capable of remembering without a tattoo? That is just dumb man. You are saying people without tattoos are boring.

I wonder why the majority of professional jobs require no tats or covered tats? Bc it doesn't represent a professional environment.

That's a very old fashioned mentality. I realize Louisiana is a very slow to change place but that's not the case as much anymore in more forward thinking and open minded areas of the country.

But professional dress covers 95% of tattoos people have anyway so it's really a non issue

Hardly. Companies have an image to protect. They want their employees to represent them professionally.

Microsoft doesn't even allow visible tatoos now. That's what the world thinks of tats.

The Army in large part is not a white collar Einstein. Show me a Field grade officer with a neck tat.

Have visible tats. Have a very good paying job. Have never been told a thing about them. I am viewed as someone who is rising in my company. Don't work for shitty, judge mental people though.
