No, but if it’s important to you, please tell yourself that you won. You can tell your buds about it in your man cave when your wife lets you have them over to watch the big game.

This is really the crux of the issue. Most guys own some dumb shite or cool shite like musical instruments that don't really belong in the house in any other way. I'm not setting up my bass and amp in the living room or bedroom.

Don't give a frick what anyone else thinks about my man cave. I took half of my downstairs workshop/storeroom and made it into a man cave/outdoor kitchen area. I have a huge garden, make my own sausage/boudin/tasso/etc., and cook for friends and neighbors regularly. Since my home is elevated, the man cave is on the ground floor.
Having this place has been very helpful to me because I can process all of my veggies and cured products without messing up my main kitchen.
I also have a bunch of LSU gear, posters, framed jerseys etc and a 65 inch flat screen with a sound bar for games and entertaining.
Now, since I have been getting chemo for 2.5 years, it has become a place where I can rest and relax on the sofas or chairs, watch tv, surf the web, or simply sleep. Many nights I go down there when I cannot sleep just so I don't bother my wife by wandering around the house all night.
So to each his own,
