A lot of people here who are supporting libraries haven't looked at the mills on their property taxes in a while.

BAton Rouge library system is overfunded by at least $40 million. It’s okay. We’ll let everybody’s house flood but we’ll have the best library system.

It’s illegal for these entities to posses this money and not spend it. The tax needs to be rolled back.

One day the power will go out and everything digital will be gone. We will need the hard copy.

1.3% of my property taxes went to library operations.

Well worth it I'd say.

Yes. Last time I went was in 2012 and it was mostly smelly homeless people looking at porn.

I have, and compared to everything else on there I consider the assessment for libraries money well sent. My kids grew up going to the library every week, They learned to love reading, and learning just for the sake of obtaining knowledge instead of just to get a grade.

I just dont see what is the point of them with so many other ways to get books.

You shouldn't advertise your ignorance. Libraries offer much more than books.

Reading is great. But even libraries know that they are basically obsolete. And the big new libraries focus entirely too much on social programs and woke shite. We don’t need democrat voter registration drives, and leftist petitioners of every stripe posting up in the loobbies if every urban library.
