A successful product of great marketing. They are overpriced for the true power they have. Family runs a commercial cleaning company and also sell commercial and residential equipment.

Check out Miele.

Miele has a $400 option. Mine is 7 years old and still perfect. Bought a shark at work and it was crap.

Oh nice! I didn't know that. I honestly haven't researched them much. Did a little preliminary research for my mom when her Dyson died and showed her Riccar and Miele. Think she settled on some $1000 Miele canister vac. specially designed to handle pet fur.

We have a Dyson animal. It's been solid the last 4 years. It did damage some Berber carpet though.

Madam finally I figured it out why you don't post much anymore. Walmart employees only have 15 min breaks

We got a Dyson when our daughter was born. It is legit. Way better than our old shark.

We have had a Dyson for several years. It's worth the money. It sucks harder than a busted Daytona stripper.

Well if you were willing to spend 400 then I'd go ahead and buy a Kirby. It will probably cost a little more but in 10 years it will still be working better than anything else on the market.

Wrong. Kirby vacs weigh ALOT and that is a pita. I had one before my miele and both myself and the cleaning lady used the ten year old eureka over it. I gave it away to a college kid. Couldn't even find someone to give me a few bucks for it on Craigslist.

It depends on what type of surface you are cleaning and how deeply you want to clean. For instance, if you have hardwood floors a canister/tank type will suffice. If you are cleaning a high traffic carpeted area then an upright will give you more throrugh cleaning. If choosing an upright, look for one that has a combination of high suction and a roller brush (minus the beater bars). I could explain the physics behind it, but that is not what you are looking for in this thread.

Buying cheap vacuum cleaners, (trying to save money), is like trying to stop a watch to save time.

Good luck.

You can find refurbished dysons online. That's what I did 5 years ago. Found one for $200. Still works great today.

I have a shark lightweight upright vacuum and it works just as well IMO

That being said, I have all tile floors so I don't know how it does on carpet (does fine on my rugs though)

Yeah, they are pretty legit.

I much prefer our Neato XV...since I don't actually have to use it. It kind of just cleans the house itself.

Get control of your woman.

$400 is nothing, just be glad she doesn't want a rainbow.

I hated vacuuming until I got mine. Now I love it. The cordless one is awesome.

We had a Dyson for a while and it worked better for hard floors than carpet. We purchased a Rainbow and substantially better on carpet. Very pricey though. If you go the Rainbow route I wouldn't buy from a dealer but find one on Ebay, craiglist etc and save a ton of money.

We have had a Dyson upright animal that is 9 years old. Still going strong. Very legit.

We also have a shark for quick cleanups. I don't like it. Much flimsier and nowhere near the suction power. I feel like I'm going to break it every time I use it. Women like them because they are light however.

Sorry you're a weakling. Kirby's weigh a bit more because they are made of metal and use a motor that will last decades with ease but they aren't heavy for a quality appliance.
