Are Doctors ... socially awkward?

Considering I am in the medical industry, we interact and employ a lot of doctors. I'd say I get along with maybe 45-50% of them (being generous). However, the ones I do happen to get along with are still awkward and strange.
Outside of the rural doctors (which are all great) that we occasionally deal with, I'd be willing to wage that at least 7/10 doctors are socially awkward and strange?
Accounting and Legal is a tight-knit bunch, but they interact with us a good bit outside of work. They are quick to happy hour.
HR is useless, but they are generally pleasant and normal.
Tech (of course they are different) and the doctors ... they are just an odd bird.

Doctors are not socially awkward.
Maybe you're the weird one.

They just make stupid financial decisions.

It seems like one extreme or the other with them. The vast majority I've worked with are pretty awkward, especially the Anesthesiologist. On the other hand, there's several that are the playboy type and are railing every hot young nurse they can get their hands on.

Physicians are very tight knit amongst each other and somewhat weary of outsiders that approach them for business reasons. Prime examples are reps, hospital execs, etc. Some feel that the politeness from this group of people is sometimes faked, so they keep their guard up. Most simply want to take care of patients without outside pressures.
But yes, many physicians are very weird, but it's not 7/10, at least not in South Louisiana. Most of the men are rednecks who work to support their hunting/fishing habits and wives/kids, and the females are still very family oriented and do "girl stuff" much like anyone else.

Some are, yes. Pathologist immediately come to mind. I've never met a socially well adjusted pathologist.

You're just on a lower intelligence level than they are.

A friend of mine is an ER doctor. He is a pretty social guy, but a friend of mine has an ex brother in law, who use to play fantasy football with us, who is a dermatologist and that is one strange dude. Nice, but odd as hell. My primary doctor, who I rarely have to go to, is cool as hell. When I do have to see him, he usually spends more time bullshiting around with me talking about different stuff..
You can't really lump all doctors together. Specialist seem to be more awkward socially, but I think once you find a common ground with them it makes communication easier.

My uncle is a Pathologist and he is one of the weirdest dudes on the planet. Incredibly smart of course, and a super human being....but very awkward.

Not necessarily. Have been around them all of my life.
Like any profession it has its sprinkling of goobers but not a significant percentage
Now, they are to be approached in a manner that acknowledges their craft as it is different, managed and monitored different and most I know work pretty darn hard and their time is at a premium

And that is how my brother got in trouble

It depends on how well rounded they are. Some are just like you and me, just highly intelligent. Others are nerdy bookworm types. Of course there are many foreign doctors too which is just different

Some are. Some are not.
My doctor friends are normal.
I know a brain surgeon who is a very awkward though

They are. When everyone else was developing social skills in college and after graduation, they were studying.

Here's what's going on with doctors right now in my life.
A woman at work was banging one. He sent a video of himself jerking of to her a few months back (they used to do some freaky stuff) *and this is only what I KNOW about.
Fast forward a litt bit, said doctor got an aggressive form of cancer and then passed. Well today she gets an email from a doctor friend of the deceased doc.
Email starts off simple enough. You know, "you meant so much to him, he was a better person when y'all were together" etc, etc.
Then quickly plummets into "I've seen the tapes of y'all, and I have a pair of your panties, they smell nice, they're in my pocket.
I want you to fly up, I'll take you anywhere. Your "p" must be so good, I'll have you climbing walls".
So that's my doctor story for the day.

I'd say the fact that you know all of this about your co-worker is equally damaging to your profession.

No, doctors in general have a higher vocabulary
