They think they’re someone important with a lot of authority when in reality they are expendable, overpaid babysitters.

The majority of what comes out of their mouth is unnecessary, unsubstantive, cliche filled bull shite.

They think it’s their job to keep their employees on edge when in reality they should be thanking their employees everyday for getting out of bed and showing up to the soul crushing drudgery and doing a good enough job that allows the manager to keep his job.

Don’t underestimate how hard it is to keep you dumbasses motivated and productive...that is why corporate execs make some cash.

You probably think your manager is only managing you. Either that, or you just have a shitty manager. Some people get promoted, and don't have the ability to properly run shite.

Good managers have a lot going on that you don't see. Budgeting, time management, project management, stupid and lazy employee management, being familiar with all aspects of what you have going on, and answering to the big bosses. It's not easy keeping everything going smoothly with big or multiple projects

Oh you mean doing their jobs? Oh you mean the people who are doing those jobs because they don’t have other options?

Don't forget convincing people to show up so you can interview their possible replacements.

External motivation from a leader or manager is a short term impact only. What you're talking about is dumbass leadership that appeals to fear.

Long term motivation is internal: the ability to connect short term efforts with long term goals.

Most leaders fail to help their followers on that journey because they choose not to accept that concept, for whatever reason.

What they say has usually gone through several filters before it gets said to hourly employees. Front line supervisors are pretty much neutered when it comes to what they can officially say nowadays. Especially in an union environment.
