It really isnt the managers, they are hounded by their boss to make numbers better. They pass that crap along after being on 15 conference calls a week. Really, they are just doing their job so they dont get fired

They think they’re someone important with a lot of authority when in reality they are expendable, overpaid babysitters.
The majority of what comes out of their mouth is unnecessary, unsubstantive, cliche filled bull shite.
They think it’s their job to keep their employees on edge when in reality they should be thanking their employees everyday for getting out of bed and showing up to the soul crushing drudgery and doing a good enough job that allows the manager to keep his job.
While your busy cooking fries your corporate manger is busy handling a way bigger picture than you could ever imagine.

Sounds like someone doesn't have a Hawaiian shirt to wear with his jeans today.

Disgruntled underlings always trivialize management......that’s why they remain grunts. They don’t have the ability to understand the bigger picture whether it’s stupidity, bitterness or both.
You’d do well smiling and supporting mgmt versus shooting your mouth off. Work smart not hard.

We just got a new manager and I woke up to this shite today:
Coming in with fresh eyes I strive to be a benefit for the team and it’s future success. The future success of each and every one of you matters to me just as much as my own. We all spend so much of our lives working that I believe we would appreciate that time being as enjoyable as possible. We are not just a team in my eyes, we are my work family. My short-term and long-term goals consist of us exceeding expectations and winning the gold on every level, every year, every quarter, every day!
Blah Blah Blah

Ok, so what would you rather that statement say?

Our middle managers’ sole purpose is to see who can forward emails from upper management first and add pithy comments like “good read” and “so true”

That is what amazes me the most. I have some guys that SHOULD be able to move up. They definitely have the experience (one has more than I do) and the knowledge of what we do. They just can't grasp the big picture and how the little things effect it, even after I explain it to them. They are basically one track mind people and either don't want to or can't grasp anything outside of what they are tasked to do.
Also, there are some people that are content with their life and their job. My best guy is one of these. I am grateful to have him but it blows my mind that people don't want to do better for themselves and their family.

It’s the notebook mafia. They kiss the arse of the person right above them, and follow them around with the notebook in their hands. I have probably never made a note in it. They probably just keep writing their name in cursive over and over again or make a grocery list. Pathetic people.

Really depends on the job and person. Some managers are worthless and just push assignments around. Some have a lot of real work they are doing and can actually help their team.

I approach my position with the motto:
Managers see that things are done right
Leaders always do the right thing.

Hi I'm Linda, I know you work from home so we will actually never meet.

I had a manager who would always smile and say,"Remember, I'm just here to help".
