What I’m getting at is you either have it or you don’t and it cannot be quantified by an object or an expression.
You’re projecting an ideal onto an object based on an antiquated perception which is quite frankly, silly.

Besides, I haven't lied. My life is a series of unfortunate events and illogical situations.
By design or by chance, I've learned to roll with the punches.
As for an antiquated item representing manliness, that is precisely my point. There are many things which give hints about a person. But if I'm employing heuristic reasoning, and I see a man smoking a good cigar, I will assume certain positive traits.

A cigar is a rare treat for me. Usually a celebration or victory of some sort. I love them but bourbon and cigars are a helluva hangover.

Correct answer. I can't go anywhere without smoking my tobacco pipe without people stopping me to tell me how much they miss people smoking pipes. Especially women...youd be surprised how many good looking women say how their grandfather smoked a pipe and that they loved the smell.
