Steve was ahead of his time. Now that everyone else has caught up and surpassed them they are struggling to be innovative. Without a new product line I think they become a run of the mill pc/phone manufacturer.

I will continue to get iPhones for the foreseeable future but they have indeed slipped. I hate my 6+ and I will never auto update apps again.
Which is what they are banking on. As long as people like you, who aren't happy with their product, will continue to buy said crappy product, why would they change anything? They are making money hand over fist and don't have to dump a ton of cash into R&D because people will blindly buy a iPhone5 with lipstick on it.

That it not true for technology. It is always more expensive and challenging to make small technology v large technology.
The Ipad Pro is 9.7" and is $500
the smaller Ipad mini is 7.9" and is $400
the smaller IPhone X is 5.9" and is $1000
They all do the same exact thing. If smaller is more expensive, then why is the Ipad mini less than the Ipad Pro?
It's b/c the idiot consumers are willing to pay $1000 for it. That's why. It's not b/c it costs more to make it smaller.

Borrowing a line from Winston Churchill,
The iPhone is the worst possible design, but it is still better than the alternatives.

Apple and Android are almost the same product now. It is a pretty big topic about how neither are cutting edge and are instead stiffling new products instead.
You can already do everything you want on something you can hold in your hand. What else do you need from them?
Flip phone T9 for life.

They need a change in leadership. Tim Cook is a smart guy who has led the company to massive profits, but he is essentially just trying to stay in the path cut by Steve Jobs. Jobs made Apple what it was by being on the cutting edge and producing tech hardware that people didn't know they needed until they had it. Their recent "cutting edge" offerings are nothing more than their effort at producing already existing tech, i.e. the iWatch and the HomePod, which is laughably late to market.
