Not to mention, she wasn’t arrested, imprisoned, or even fined.

She was issued a citation for battery since she bit one of them.

I stand corrected.

Let me rephrase.

She wasn’t fined for speaking.

Biting is a different animal altogether.

Tariffs are not about collecting money

They are about influencing behavior

The Chinese fricked over the state of Wisconsin and now they have a governor who just changed the word “mother” to “inseminated person.”

Yep, it's a shame that people don't really understand the point of them. Or they just don't want to.

I'm pretty sure that project is exactly what I was talking about. Billions and thousands of jobs were promised, but only a fraction of them were delivered years and years later.

The best part of about Trump cultists is that they generated people like you, the exact opposite.

Exact same cult-like fervor, just opposite face of the coin.

It keeps this time in human history very fun.

Foxconn

they have a few facilities in Houston by the race track, probably where the apple/foxconn one the article mentions is going.

Professionally, I have been in and seen hundreds of warehouses, jobsites, etc around Houston. All sorts of work environments from refineries to beer distributors, amazon 3PLs, chicken farms to small mom & pop operating out of their garages.

The Foxconn warehouse is by far the most depressing place I've ever seen. I worked with them for 5 years. They had a new manager every few months cause it was such a shithole. It was like presidential aging from the day the old manager would introduce me to the new. Then in 6 or so months the new guy would be quitting and introducing me to some sad sack that got to fill his role.

It is hard to describe just how joyless every face was in there. I think prisons have higher morale than that place

Not so fast. They just removed end to end encryption in iMessage and iCloud in the UK in response to government demands to be able to access user data.

It was the Advanced Data Protection service for iCloud turned off in the UK which includes iMessage backups but not the e2e encryption sending and receiving iMessages, but you are correct on iCloud stuff outside of health app and passwords which along with iMessages and FaceTime are encrypted e2e without turning on Advanced Data Protection. So don’t back up iMessages in the UK.
quote:

Note that the loss of Advanced Data Protection in the UK does not affect the existing end-to-end encryption of several other Apple features available in the country, including iMessage, FaceTime, password management and health data.

quote:

Advanced Data Protection provides end-to-end encryption for the following additional iCloud categories:

Device Backups and Messages Backups
iCloud Drive
Notes
Photos
Reminders
Voice Memos
Safari Bookmarks
Siri Shortcuts
Wallet Passes

Using a 2016 law the UK was demanding Apple put in a backdoor into iCloud services for users worldwide without warning customers it was no longer 100% secure. The companies cannot even officially acknowledge this type of demand was made by the UK govt. This was Apple’s step to attempt to comply with the demand while keeping its default encryption and not building a secret backdoor just for the UK’s govt. If not accepted by the UK as following the law or their demand Apple may end up dropping these iCloud services in the UK.
