I just wonder where it stops? Should they remove all references to the Founding Fathers? Because they all either owned slaves or fought for the institution of slavery by fighting for what would become the United States

I mean there seems to be a large amount of concern from the whites concerning the statues. Very emotional at times, I would assume there would be a protest or two in opposition of the statues being removed.

Maybe it's only a big deal online

Who do you think sued the city and tied this up in court?

Dude we are in America. Stop that illogical and baseless shitty game racist sympathizers play where they justify their shittiness on the grounds that someone else was just as shitty.

Orrrrrrrrrrrr...
It's our history.
You know what? The mongols have a statue of Ghengis khan in Their country and he was more terrible (in any and every sense of the word) than any southern general could hope to be.

Those who shook History enough to be remembered in stone shouldn't be torn down, they should be looked up to, literally.

In the sense of, "these were born mortal men, but they so shaped our collective memory that, no matter how they carved their name into the history books, they are remembered. "
Maybe if more people did something worthy of being etched in stone this world would be a better place.

Then the bible.

Then history books.

And on and on and on until they have their communist utopia.

If you had to sum up what the people who want the statues to come down look like, it would be this

Ignorant and entitled as the day is long

I am convinced Mitch did this as a ploy to springboard himself to some other political office. I don't think he actually cares if they come down. In fact, it is probably better in his eyes if they don't. "I tried but the big bad meanies wouldn't let me do it. Elect me to higher office and I will make sure it happens."

I don't have a side, like I stated before the statues don't bother me. I know why they were erected.

I do not know of anyone who does not admire Pres/Gen Eisenhower. He displayed a picture of Gen Lee with pride. I do not think he would so honor a "traitor" as a certain poster referred to him.
