In the real world, I'd be getting paid to be there. In my english class, I'm not being paid to be there. I turned in my assignments and did all the work.
But you're wasting someone's money by not going.

Mikee will get this point:
It’s like getting fired from your IT job for not showing up to the office even though you can get your work done from home. But the boss wants you there at least 3 days a week.
Yes, the work is done but part of the job is being at a certain place at a certain time. And you knew that.
And now it’s the teachers fault?
FFS.

At the same time it's the sort of policy I would see day one, walk over to Middleton directly out of class and drop.
Oh I agree 100% with this as well. I dropped plenty of classes after syllabus day.
College is all about learning to play the game. Learning how to read and play your teachers is training ground for learning how to read and play your superiors. Learn to play the game or shut up and accept mediocrity and middle management.

Hey, long story shot, I'm sure I am not the only one this has happened to, but I failed my english based purely on attendance.
The average of my papers was a 90, and I had an A in the class until participation was factored in which then brought my grade down to C+. I now have an F on my transcript because of this attendance policy.
I'm almost positive appealing the grade would be pointless and they wouldn't change it, but it's at least worth a shot. Just curious to see if anyone has had success with this in the past.
You are a worthless human.

Congrats on graduating in the summer and not the spring with your friends.

Good luck getting a grade changed in college for being lazy.

Well you're fricked. You read that, acknowledged, and ignored it. Now suffer the consequences like and adult and quit crying like a bitch.
Here's a protip for your life: no one gives a frick about your college transcripts.
LSU gives students an opportunity to "Repeat and Delete" bad grades. You simply take the course again and replace the F with the newly earned grade. LSU only allows this to be done a couple time though so you may want to consult your advisor.

Yeah, but you don't want to burn those on freshman English.

It's not special treatment. I don't disagree with the policy because it applies to me, I disagree with the policy because it's ridiculous.
You've established that you're a dumbass.
Yet you got high marks on all assignments.
So now we establish this class was a gift-wrapped A.
And you managed to frick that into an F because you disagree with a policy whose only requirement was that you walk in the door.
Congrats you're a double dumbass. Seriously. You don't belong in college. I'm not sure you even belong working at McDonald's. You probably need to be in prison. Clearly life has been too easy for you thus far.

Thanks, man. I'll make sure to hand you some coupons the next time you come through the drive-thru

I do think the mandatory class policy that a lot of the English classes at LSU have is ridiculous. However, it's still dumb as frick of you to not just show up for 50 min/80 min (depending on MWF or TTH) just to get an easy A. You're not really in any position to appeal your grade at this point.

My big sister gave me great advice when I first went to college.
No matter what, go to class. Doesn’t matter if you’re high, drunk, or hungover, just go to class. Even if you don’t participate or forgot to do an assignment, just go to class.
It was great advice.

I couldn't even get a final grade changed because of legitimate reasons like having a lab partner staying back and repeating the experiment after we had already finished (attendance was part of the grade) or the professor giving 0 credit where credit was due according to the assignment.
Unless you can get the professor to change it, appeals are slim to no chance.

Get a family friend doctor to lie on a note saying you have chronic migraines, which incapacitate you frequently

5 pages and still no explanation how the C+ became an F on the transcript.
Oh yeah....i agree with everyone else - this is on you.

But it still is only because of some BS rule. Not anything that actually holds any merit.
