Appealing grade in English at LSU

Hey, long story shot, I'm sure I am not the only one this has happened to, but I failed my english based purely on attendance.
The average of my papers was a 90, and I had an A in the class until participation was factored in which then brought my grade down to C+. I now have an F on my transcript because of this attendance policy.
I'm almost positive appealing the grade would be pointless and they wouldn't change it, but it's at least worth a shot. Just curious to see if anyone has had success with this in the past.

It's not special treatment. I don't disagree with the policy because it applies to me, I disagree with the policy because it's ridiculous.

You registered for the class. Day 1 they go over the syllabus and I'm sure the attendance policy was listed on there. If you didn't think you could commit to just going to class why didn't you drop the class?
Yes, attendance policies in college are not necessary.. but it's not like they just sprung this on you at the end of the semester.

It shows that you have no respect for the teacher or the class if you don't show up. If you're not willing to go to class, don't go to college. That is not a ridiculous policy. Walk into the real world sometime.

That's my point. My attendance had no effect on my learning if I was able to earn an A average on the assignments.
