I don't believe the government should pay for any healthcare. Period. However, try already do. That horse has left the barn and you are not getting it back in. I believe in freedom so I believe marijuana should be legal.
Your compromise is ridiculous because there is no possible mechanism to turn away patients who have used marijuana from hospitals. Having this conversation makes me feel ridiculous. I know you feel smart but you are actually not living in the real world.
Healthcare for illegal drugs is paid for by tax dollars. Making it legal will not increase your money spent bc guess what? It already is being spent. Making it legal will increase tax revenues and decrease tax dollars spent on the war on drugs/police state.

It was more of a crony capitalists scheme than liberalized legalization or decriminalization.

This issue was crafted in such a way that the supporters of legal pot had to vote no.

Maybe not now but surely there will be a way to tell if your lung cancer was caused by the tar in weed vs asbestos.
There has to be a point where we say enough is enough, no? How about no welfare if you smoke weed/cigarettes, do drugs or get a dui? Can we start there?

The voters of Ohio were smart enough to reject this measure due to the bad economics of the law rather than its limited libertarian benefits.
If the proposed measure was for the legalization without the restrictions on suppliers and all of the tax revenue dedicated to law enforcement, how do you think the vote would have gone? My suspicion is that it would have passed.

This. They tried to monopolize the sell of marijuana in Ohio by attempting to only allow a few already wealthy individuals sell it. They tried to fly bullshite under the radar and got called out on it. When they propose a fair system to buy and sell marijuana it will pass.
