Anyone use a water filter system for their home?

Whether it’s an integrated system for the whole house, under sink, countertop water filtration system, or just a Pitcher Filter type thing for drinking water you keep in the fridge?

We use this one. Can find on Amazon. No issues

Just through the fridge.
But I’m looking into installing a whole house filter system. Our city water is as chlorinated as a swimming pool.
I’m looking at either the 3M filter system, or Whirlpool makes some filter systems that clean themselves.

Recently installed an I-Spring 3 three stage filter with a pre filter.
Took care of all our bad taste and sediment issues.
All in diy cost was about 1k. Definitely pipe in what ever you get with 1" pipe if that's what's coming into your house.
I initially used 3/4" PEX and it seriously affected our water pressure. Luckily I got most of the material free from work.

I looked at these, too.
How do they do on removing chlorine?

Fridge has a filter - works decently - water tastes good.

We have an R/O under sink thing. We love it. Tastes like nothing at all which suits our house. If you love a mineral/spring taste then you'll want a re-mineralizer or a non-RO filtration system.
We have large pitchers we just fill and put in the fridge to have ice cold drinking water always available or to bring out when we have people over. Of course in the winter it's pretty cold out of the tap, like any other tap water here.

We have a whole house filter and softener. Love it. No more scaling and white powder building up on all the fixtures.
Takes a minute to get used to the soft water "soap feeling" but that's a minor issue considering how well it works. Does an automatic regeneration and the only maintenance is buying an occasional 50lb bag of pellet salt at tractor supply for $5.
Highly recommend it if you have large glass shower enclosures. So much easier to keep the glass clean.
ETA they make a stub filter attachment for refrigerators because there's no reason to have a charcoal filter anymore.
Coffee tastes fantastic too.

No, but I’ll tell you this, fwiw. I’m building a house, and the standard specifications that the architect uses has a clause about water filtration. It says something like, If a water filtration system is installed the Architect takes no responsibility for any health or safety consequences.

I have a reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink for drinking water. It’s pretty clutch since we drink a lot of water in my house.

How would a water filtration system installed in your house cause health or safety consequences?

Reverse osmosis water is life changing - I did a ton of research before buying this:
Brondell RO System
Easy to install and the water is amazing - I was very skeptical but the wifey wanted one - just the 2 of us and we go through ~1 gallon/day of drinking water - not counting coffee, which it also changes/improves the taste - I will ensure we always have RO water from now on.
The filters are replaced every 4-6 months depending on usage - thank me later.

Yup....Culligan RO under-sink for the past 17+ years....just need to occasionally change filters and membrane. Whole house filter as well that's more general for chlorine/sediment.
