The 1200 don't bother me, but the people getting 800 a week to not work when they never sniffed that does. I make more but I have to go into people's houses and it sucks.
People are dirty more than clean in my experience.
I walked off one job yesterday because it was nasty. I just switched to n95s, but still don't like working right now. Hopefully sba approves my loan at least.
Oddly I haven't slowed much. From 7-9 jobs a day to 5-7.

probably won't get one and not real upset about it. I would rather see someone out of work with a family and bills to pay get it before me anyway.
That’s great but that’s not what is happening.

Nope. I'm lucky enough to still be working so I can't complain
I've been doing what I can to support local businesses in the meantime
Hopefully this all passes soon and we can resume normal life

I am not getting one, it sucks. but I am able to work at home and still am employed and getting my paycheck. its less now because the markets are down and I work on commission. but I am still getting paid.
Do i want the $1,200? yes.
Do i need it? no
I am ok with not getting it.
If i got it I would definitely pump it back into restaurants around the city ASAP

I would take making a nice salary every year over a one time check.
I see the forest though

Yes, there are undeserving people who will get a stimulus check who do nothing and are helpful to no one.
However, we all know numerous highly paid people who are where they are because of who they know, who they are related to or by very fortunate circumstances who are paid way more than other people who work way harder than them (that may even apply to some people in this thread).
Life ain't fair. If you're successful, you've learned this a long time ago and created success for yourself instead of always blaming everyone else like unsuccessful people do. And although government may not reward hard-working people all the time, hard-working people are always rewarded more in the end by eventually making higher salaries (like those in this thread) and having more opportunities for themselves in the end. Hard working people always eventually get noticed and have more opportunities.

Its funny to see the people that normally bitch about poors being jealous of what they make, that are now jealous of the poors getting a check for a whopping $1200

I qualified, but wish I didn’t.

Which country’s economy are we stimulating? It’s likely that Walmart will be the biggest single beneficiary of the cash infusion. That means there will be a big boost to China’s economy.

unfortunately you spend over $2000 per kid a year so still in the red.

I'm fine not getting this welfare. Just like i'm fine not getting food stamps and other welfare entitlements.

You pay all this tax money and then get pissed when you see the Govt pissing it away. I am shocked!

I agree, if you make over 100k it seems like you’re more likely to stimulate the economy with $1200 than use it to pay rent or bills.
They want this money to be spent and circulated ASAP, and the less money you have the more likely you are to spend it.

Yeah. I pay half of my fricking like in taxes. How bout a little back in a time of crisis. Too bad I'm not an airline.

I agree with much of the sentiment in this thread. My wife and I didn’t qualify but we both still have jobs so we feel very fortunate.
Having said that...would I complain about the money? No. I’d honestly just have forwarded it over to my mom to help her out.

There are so many variables in this scenario we are in that I don't think there's any way it can be fair or equitable for everyone.
For instance. Denying a welfare mom a check because they have kids they shouldn't have sounds like fair treatment for the mom, but what about the kids? They didn't get to choose their life situation. If we are the nation we aspire to be, we should do our best to see the kids don't suffer. But how do you pick and choose? It would take years to get the deserving people money if you took the time to sort through all of that.
On the other hand, people who work and make too much to qualify, may or may not have a gripe either. I've always believed you should live within your means, save all you can, and have your war chest well funded. No check, no problem. But it takes some sacrifice. If you live pay check to pay check, and you live in a $350,000 home, drive BMWs, etc., etc., are your life choices any better than the welfare mom's? Maybe, maybe not. Did you do everything right but a major illness drained your war chest? Could be. But is it reasonable to expect the government to sort through those issues in a crisis? Is it the government's fault you're a baller, living large, looking down on poor's, all the while your financial arse is hanging out in the breeze? I think not.
TLDR: Not upset.
