didn't say they did, but statistically, it helps greatly, which is a very real reason for anyone to get vaccinated, not just for COVID

It can limit viral loads, which can make infection moot and limit or even prevent transmission.

Hadn’t COVID

Didn’t die

Had hangovers that were worse
Drive 30-40k miles year
Much more concerned about car fatality

According to the Israeli study, you’re 40 times less likely to see symptoms if you’ve had covid before vs simply getting the vaccine. Getting it twice is rare. Getting it twice and feeling bad is even more rare.

For people with comorbidities. Of which I have none.

I’m familiar with what the CDC’s position is. Independent review disagrees, and that’s why your beloved CDC now wants the vaccinated in masks.

I'm willing to die just to stop hearing about it. This site really needs a Covid19/Corona Virus/ Vaccine only forum!

Survival rate from the vaccine is higher than the survival rate of Covid.

You're not factoring in that you have to actually catch COVID first, in order to be considered in those survival statistics. Good chance you won't even catch it.

Once you choose to take the vaccine, then you're locked in with it's statistical risks.

I’m not getting the vaccine. See you in the checkout line.

I think the main issue is that America is very much an individualistic nation. Sometimes that comes in handy and other times it doesn’t. However, the whole point of the vaccine is to reduce hospitalizations and deaths. In that regard it has worked well for the vaccinated. That’s an individualized reason for getting/not getting it. I do/don’t need it because I do/don’t think I’ll get too sick because I’m healthy/unhealthy.

The other point is to help reduce the spread and community transmission. Yes, you can still get it but your chances of catching it are greatly reduced. That’s the community reason. I personally don’t worry about catching it because of my age and health; however, I’d hate to pass it to someone I care about or anyone for that matter. If you look at getting the vaccine as doing something for your community and others, then it paints a different picture in my opinion. Whether that be you don’t feel like calling friends and family to tell them you have it and now you have to force them to quarantine. Or you don’t want to be the reason a parent is in the hospital.

Side note, a friend of mine (unvaccinated) caught Covid and passed it to his son. Now he has a son in the icu because of Covid. The friend is improving now and made it through Covid. So his reasoning of not getting the vaccine because HE didn’t need it checks out. However, I guarantee if you would have told him to get vaccinated for his son he would’ve done it.

That’s the problem with the messaging from the govt and the entire mindset. This should be about the common good and not the individual good.

Anyone truly willing to die to avoid the vaccine?

Well I have no intention on getting the shot and if I do get COVID there’s a 99.7% chance I’d survive. So why would I get an experimental shot if I have those odds of surviving if I don’t get it.

And here’s a question for you. Since nobody knows what the long term side effects are from this vaccine, are you willing to risk your health getting an experimental vaccine?
