Yes but don’t be too selfish when it comes to prayer. Being thankful for what you have is critical to me especially since I am lucky enough to live in the US and not have to struggle. We are so much better off than everyone else around the world but always complain and curse God

I will use an analogy. Let's say there's a class with a teacher and twenty students. Ten of these students are hard workers and try to learn. Ten of them don't care and don't try.

If the teacher can't reach the ones who don't care, then that's one thing. But if the ten who are trying to understand are all really confused and coming up with different answers, maybe the teacher isn't very good or (in this case) doesn't exist to sort it all out.

There are millions of good Christian people in the world that all have a very different understanding of God, the Bible, Christianity, even Jesus. Why can't God get His message across to these people? Why, for example, would someone like Billy Graham differ from the Pope? Wouldn't these two devout Christians both be guided by the Holy Spirit to very similar conclusions?

I think most people probably do pray really generic, non-specific prayers that require zero faith to pray. And they do that because they don't truly believe or have faith that God can do something specific. That's probably 99% of prayers that people pray.
