We changed our bedding to cotton blankets. Incredible the difference in temperature control and fewer wake ups.

Only thing I’ve changed in the last 6 months is in 2025 I cut back on drinking a good bit and started lifting weights again after a 8 yr hiatus

I exercise (weights and jogging) 6 days a week
What time of day are you lifting weights and jogging?
Also, what’s the breakdown of weights vs jogging?
It sounds like you’re lifting more than you’re jogging. I would consider shifting some of that workout time towards more cardio/jogging.
I see where you said you wake up at 5:30AM for work. Would it be possible to wake up earlier and lift/jog before work?
My best guess is your heart rate and cortisol levels heading to bed is higher compared to before this lifestyle change 6 months ago, and that is causing this new difficulty sleeping.

A 5mg THC/ 5mg CBD gummie does it for me.
Out all night.

Don't play on your phone before bed. It tells your brain it's wakeup time.

Hometown heroes has awesome 5mg thc/5mg cbd gummies.
I am out for 7-8 hours. No grogginess and sleep like a baby.

Caffeine has a 7 hour half life. It hangs around a lot longer than people realize and it starts to affect you differently as you get older. Try cutting at 2 pm

I fall asleep fine. I can't stay asleep. If I make it to 3am I'm happy.
Same here. I fall asleep initially just fine. Staying asleep is the problem.
I think it is age. I used to be able to sleep through the night regularly.

Sounds like anxiety and stress to me.

It's the anxiety of middle life, for me. The pressures of providing, the weight of a career, fear for vulnerable children, melancholy for lost loved ones, bills, time, the gloomy approach of death, a culture gone berserk. It's afflicted me over the last three years and caused chronic difficulty sleeping. Deeply unpleasant and disruptive. I refrain from drinking, exercise religiously, meditate, read, try have sex as often as possible, but none of it entirely alleviates the dread and sleeplessness.

Drink 3-5 beers
Eat a big meal
Smoke some indica
In that order
You'll be knocked out for good about an hour and a half later

Go see a doctor. I remember going to a cardiologist (no heart problems) and he asked how I slept. I said so so at best. He said "that's not good". He told me to go to my PCP and discuss. I started taking a sleep medication that is effective and non habit forming. (Trazadone). I sleep pretty damn well now. And it was likely related to stress. I can assure you through my life when I've had stress and anxiety, my mind did terrible things based on the lack of sleep. So bottom line is you need to go to a doctor. Insomnia is a medical condition and melatonin won't solve it.

Please elaborate. It looks interesting. I looked at the pod five. Is that the one you have? Do you have the blanket?
Were you having serious sleep problems before? And how much did it help?

What's your caffeine intake/schedule look like? How much and what type of screen time after about 6:00 pm?
2-3 cups per day tops but nothing after 11am.
Screen time pre-bed is too much…doomscrolling. But this was the case before I started having problems 6 months ago

Occasionally. Always due to stress for me
My brain was racing about work related stuff. When im not stressed out, I can fall asleep pretty quickly these days.
