Stay on Causeway and get off at Jefferson Highway. Easy peasy

Have you ever actually done that? You drive the entire length of Causeway which is a shitshow between I10 and Jeff Hwy. It's worse going the other way but still significant. That part could take almost as long as the bridge some days.

Well if you're living in New Orleans you probably already hate your life.

If you're going into the actual city of Covington, it won't be fun.

If you're barely crossing I-12, not a big deal.

That said, everyone I know who did this ended up moving to the northshore.

So you assume that I'm the problem and natives don't like me because I have "504" in my name? All while not knowing where I'm from or where I live?

What a retard.

Used to do this drive several times a month. Heading to Covington from Uptown traffic won't ever be bad once you get on 10, unless they are convoying on the Causeway. Can be in downtown Covington in 45-50 minutes from leaving house. Coming back in afternoon you will hit traffic on Causeway Blvd, and often on 10 once entering back into Orleans Parish.

Other wild card is are you going into Covington proper, that stretch of 190 between Bogue Falaya and 12 is rough both ways in the late afternoon. And prayers if you are coming from 190 or 25 north of Covington and need to go over the bridge.

What I said was a joke. What they said didn't seem like a joke.

It is a joke tho because 985 didn't even exist when many moved here and many "natives" didn't even have a 985 area code.

Then after crossing the lake you'd have to cross the entire city to get back Uptown - no thanks

Eh. Causeway to River Road is a pretty easy shot to get Uptown.

The worst part of that drive would be Metairie back to uptown on your way home.
.
Just move to downtown Covington. Restaurants, bars, and shops are all walkable just like uptown NOLA, but without the muggings and murders.

Maybe you should read upon 504 area code BECAUSE it was the area code for the Northshore for a very very long time. Longer than 985
