Put one in March 17
Paradise Pools
16 x 32 rectangle
Left off the hot tub, and instead added a 10 x 10 tanning ledge off the side.
Travertine pool deck, but extended it another 600sq ft
no heater, but I will add it this Winter.
Pool goes from 3.5-5.5 ft, and because it is big and deep, it stays cooler than most friends pools.

$52K

You're better off find a house for sale with one already built. They add zero value to the price per sq foot when you sale so it's a waste of money.

Sale is a noun. Sell is a verb.

Sally wants to sell her puppy at the sale.

Does 49 include that outdoor kitchen, landscaping, and all that concrete?

Looking to put in a pool. Standard size rectangular with hot tub, heater, decking etc. How much am I looking at here? $50-$65,000? Any recommendations in New Orleans area? Salt water vs chlorine? What is your decking ... Kool deck, travertine, brick, etc? Thx

I did a 25K gallon salt water/gunite pool, with hot tub and heater for both pool and tub, and 1400 sq/ft of Travertine. Has an 8’x10’ chair deck in pool.

Not including the separate outdoor kitchen structure (pool/tub only), it was north of $100k.

There are numerous small things that start to add up. Gas lines for lanterns, fire pits, grills, heaters...then have multiple copper lines run hundreds of feet—gets expensive.

Same for decking, and fountains, and accessories...

We use the pool/hot tub all the time and also entertain outdoors a good bit. The kitchen gets used three times a week.

I would stay away from Backyard Living—-the owner is a bottom feeder—you will spend your days babysitting his moronic subs and dealing with his endless excuses for why he didn’t show up or deliver on promises....the owner can best be described as an “unprofessional, hot headed, Metry “hey-bra””...I am not alone in this sentiment—Google is your friend.

Good luck with your decision.

Outdoor kitchen is separate. If it wasn't, I would have been stealing from my builder.

Landscaping was separate.

Concrete is included in price of outdoor kitchen build out since we have both going on at the same time.

Definitely shop around. At least in my area, the pool builders all use the same subs for the gunite and plaster work. I think the only work that my high dollar pool builder did itself was the excavation, framing, and plumbing.

Before you sign up, ask friends with pools what they would have done differently in terms of shape, return placement, water features, surface color, decking, etc.

Those cows are long gone by now and chances are, they might have ended up on our plates.

Nice looking set up and good looking dog!

It would make good sense to add a really nice outdoor kitchen to a home, but I just cannot justify a pool. I’d rather have a country club membership and use the pool there for three months out of the year and let them do all the work.

I love it when idiots make comments like this when they assume that everyone else is as wasteful and lazy as they are.
