Wife (no pics) and I are looking into buying a second property that we could enjoy with our young children. We are 3 hours from the Gulfport/Biloxi area, and I think we would go at least one weekend a month and try to rent it out when we weren’t using the unit. Anyone here have a condo in this area? Thanks.

ETA: don’t want to spend 350k on a 2 BR condo or drive the extra hours to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores.

That Biloxi black beach weekend is racist because the stores close during that weekend because black folks come in town

Depends on what your into.

My in laws have a place right down the road in Pass Christian. It’s fun to go about once every 6 months but there’s not a lot to do. The fishing sucks, beach sucks and you have the same few shitty restaurants to visit.

If you want fishing choose something in Louisiana like grand isle.

If you want it for the beach do Orange Beach

You must be one miserable SOB if you think there is more to do in Grand isle than the MS coast, also here is a hint, if you believe the fishing is so much better in LA it is a very short boat ride away, although every once in a while the fence gets a hole in it and a few fish escape to MS.

I try to like the Mississippi coast because it’s so much shorter of a drive but when I go I just regret not going somewhere else.

This due to the shitty dirty water and muddy walking in the surf. I can do that in Grand Isle.

OP, go east to have clean water and a sandy bottom.

You must have trouble with reading comprehension

I said if you enjoy fishing choose somewhere else, I used Grand Isle as an example.

I said if you enjoy the beach choose somewhere else like orange beach

And the fishing is a 10 times better in Louisiana, that’s not an argument it’s just fact

Some places along the coast don't have huge silt/clay deposits at the beach. Biloxi is definitely not one of those places.

IIRC, the beaches further west on the coast aren't as muddy, but they don't get cleaned of trash as often as they should

Sounds like you don’t know how to fish.... and you want to be able to walk to your restaurants.

Although, it’s not NOLA or even close to BR for restaurants there are plenty of good places to choose from. You just have to take a drive along the beach.... oh the horror!

If you really want to buy and have the ability to rent then you'll want to be in orange beach area. My condo pays for itself and will pay out nicely when it comes time to sell

Yeah. House not condo. On beach Blvd.

Honest answer, it's alright. But 3000 sq ft will run you a fair amount.

While I like the MS gulf coast a lot, there is still a lot missing since the storm wiped it clean. Businesses are coming back and opening every year. I am not sure there would be a lot of condos available to buy there right now, though.
