I don’t think anyone other than Ward’s lawyer has claimed this is what happened.

Yeah I think having witness testimony will be pretty damaging here for Ward. He's screwed. His best hope is for a manslaughter deal which he might not get.

She said Jackson, who was not homeless, put out his hand for change, and Ward began to curse and punch him.
Hmm. Seems like the defense attorney would jump all over this and what may have been in his hand to invoke a response.

Probably a dumb question, but since I've never been in court for more than a traffic ticket I must ask.
OT Lawyers, how long do trials like this last? (days, months, years?) I know this has been going on since 2018 but with covid delays over and now this in front of a judge does that mean these are the final stages? (not counting appeals)

Seems like the cops would’ve found something if there was a gun or knife.
If he just beat that man to death for no reason, he deserves everything he gets in Angola.

That's some American Psycho type shite

Post the deets on G Weezys going away party. Gonna be an OT rager. Make sure he knows you only do 2 days. The day you go in and the day you come out.

Can we sticky this until the trial is over? Could be a good one to follow
Posted on 5/4/22 at 2:57 pm to 225Tyga
There really isn’t much to follow, it’s not like people are streaming it or are in the courtroom live tweeting it

I wish there was a live feed for trials like this. Hopefully there will continue to be articles with updates.

Months
My bet would be less than 2 weeks (maybe even a week). This isn't a complicated trial with lots of witnesses, DNA testing, he said/she said, etc.
From what I have read, the Defense has two hopes...
1 - Prove that Ward felt threatened - self defense
2 - Prove the guy should not have died because of Ward's actions. He was a drug addict, had severe underlying health issues, etc. The earlier link that showed the progression of the case indicates a BR Neuro Surgeon is going to be called as an expert witness by the defense.

If I'm not mistaken, in the original thread there was a poster (likely one of Ward's homies) trying to convince people that Angola wasn't that bad and that he had spoken to multiple people who said that the tales of woe were dramatically over-exaggerated

Not looking good for this man.

The DA himself is trying the case it seems.
Oh look, the DA is taking crime seriously! Just a weird coincidence this case features one of the rare times a white guy kills a black guy. What crazy odds.

Another small update on the witness
quote:
Under cross examination by defense attorney John Fuller, Williamson offered sometimes fuzzy answers to questions: She couldn’t say whether she was headed upriver or downriver, but offered that she was headed toward the zoo, which is upriver of the Pontchatrain Hotel. And she had earlier testified that Jackson was sitting near a flower box when Ward approached him, but when asked to mark a photo with a red “x” where Jackson sat, she scribbled a different spot.

Was it the one north of BR that killed 7 people?

That's him. Surprised he only got 30 years to be honest. I think his sentence got reduced from 70 originally. I knew his older sister most of my life growing up.
