Into it? No.
Do I laugh when I see it at a rodeo? Yes.

My 5 year old daughter did it this year inside NRG for Houston rodeo. Fun times.

Sounds like a Scottish pastime

Ill be honest, there was the children's hospital ad then they brought out the kids, I thought they were special kids they were letting do that.. When I was in school, there was an annual fair in October from Friday night til Sunday night and the special kids always got to go Friday to ride the rides... They were pretty much letting the special kids ride on the rides they were doing test runs on before the fair opened and for a split second.. I thought that was what was going on here..
"Lets bring the special kids over and we can lay them on sheep face first and let the sheep go in the arena... show em what's bull riding is like minus the bull"

For HLSR Mutton Bustin’ children need to be 5-6 years old and 35-55 lbs. There is an online lottery that opens up in the fall for spots to run inside the stadium. There is also a Mutton Bustin’ tent outside on the grounds where anyone meeting the above requirements can ride for $20.

I like the way the Mutton Bustin' event is sponsored by the Children's Hospital of SA...
Looks like they were trying to drum up business... Orthopedics must be slow.

While staying outside of Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, we walked from our hotel and caught the rodeo one night (wife and daughters had never been to a rodeo).
They did it there - first time I ever saw that. It was a hoot. Seems like a great way to get little kids started on rodeo stuff.

My son has ridden in NRG…couldn’t convince my daughter.
To get selected to ride before the concert you have to enter a lottery…and either know someone on the committee who has pull or get really lucky.
If you get picked to ride in the stadium, you don’t get a choice of what day, they tell you not to practice…which even if you do doesn’t matter anyway because the dipshits who put your kids on the animal usually don’t get them in a good centered position and they usually end up falling off, and lastly, if your kid is crying or refuses to get on they get skipped and don’t get another chance.
But as someone else said you can have your kid ride on the fairgrounds outside NRG with much less pressure.
