I know several people had mentioned wanting to go to WDW for New Years.

I believe they are in a Phase A closure at Magic Kingdom as of 10 am (parking lots full, can't come in with a one day pass)

Wait Times as of a few min ago:

Jungle Cruise - 110
Peter Pan - 110
Mine Train - 180
Space Mountain - 205

In Epcot:
Living With the Land - 80 (this is insane - I have never stood in line for this one)
Mission Space - 80
Spaceship Earth - 95
Test Track -175
Soarin - 210

I talked to someone in the Studios this morning. She said it's packed. But they are findings things to do. She did not heed my advice to make ADRs so they are eating a lot of burgers and turkey legs!

frick that. If spaceship earth isn't 5 minutes, we've lost our souls as a country.

I was a JC Skipper 20 years ago. The wait times then were 120 mins pre-FastPass era. This wait time is insane.

BTW...we typically added extra 30-45 mins to wait times just for shits and giggles.

I'm as big a fan of the place as anyone....but I would never go there for New Year's Eve.

Apparently, this pic was taken last night by a cast member from somewhere high up in Cinderella Castle. frick that.

It looks like that every night just before the fireworks show......

I went over the Thanksgiving break a few years ago.
I'm a Disney regular, but those crowds were too much.
I now plan my Disney trips in late February.

This is one of the dumbest times of year to go. The only other time of year as remotely stupid is the heat of the summer. Now because kids are out of school and it's packed, summer cause you might die.

I find they are not as funny as they used to be. Some of them have been using same script for years and years and it still cracks me up even though I know pretty much all the jokes. But a lot of the skippers really suck now.

We did week during Mardi Gras. Still busy, nothing compared to now and summer.

Waiting in line for 3 hours for a weak ride is mind boggling

Back then we ad libbed a lot. I mean a lot, and some of the stuff we made up was gold! Not supposed to, but I'm not sure they crack down on that a lot today due to the PC culture.

We did Christmas/NYE week in 04. We had it planned for a while and it just so happened LSU was playing in the bowl game in Orlando - Saban's last game. The crowd was beyond miserable the entire week. Haven't gone back in December since.

We've done Thanksgiving several times, and I actually don't find it too bad. We went in 2012 and 2014, and will be doing it again in 2016. We leave Wed night the week before (kids miss school Thurs and Fri which are useless days anyways). Get there Thurs Morning. Check in and relax. Do Xmas Party Thurs night. Get a 7 day ticket Friday - Thanksgiving day. Drive home day after Thanksgiving.

Friday - Monday are very easy. Tues and Wed are more crowded. Usually do 2 days at MK, 2 at Epcot, 1 at Studios, 1 at AK. Thanksgiving day we park hop to do the things we missed and end up in MK to do dinner at Liberty Tree.

Also, if you check in the Thurs before thanksgiving week, you can get the free dining.

The clueless mothers will run people's ankles down with those plastic buggies. One day I will rage on one of those moms.

My bucket list includes staying away from WDW.

So no, I'm not there today.
