"i hate customers who_____" stories?

I was a teller and i hated people who came through drive thru with 37 checks to cash.

I also hated people who would cash a 3700.00 check and piss n moan when i asked for their ID.

ETA: meant to say "cash" not have."

I had a relative who was president of a large bank, as a kid I walked into the vault alone and was surrounded by millions in cash around me.

I don't piss and moan but I am eternally confused by them asking for ID when I am DEPOSITING a check to my commercial account. I tell them the same thing everytime: "Some random dude shows up and wants to put money IN my account, you let him. No ID required."

I was once refused to deposit in our joint account, because I wasn't listed as the primary account holder. NO shite. Still confuses me, ended up having to deposit in my account and do a transfer, which seemed more shady than putting it into account directly.

Normally you don't have to provide ID to deposit, just withdraw. If the amount is under 10k and you aren't doing any structuring, no ID should be required.

My father in law switched banks over a teller not letting my wife (when she was about seven) cash in her piggy bank. Said it had $15.00 or so of loose change and the teller wouldn't accept it.

My FIL owns a couple of businesses, has a decent amount on deposit (no OT baller, though) and switched everything. He likes telling that story. That bank ended up getting bought out several times and is now a Regions - still won't do business with them.

Part of it is his racism problem, the other part is this black teller pissed him off. I'm going to give him a beer this weekend and get him riled up telling that story again.

Yeah, we could only accept rolled coin. Think about if someone just came in with a crap load of coins and we had to sit there and roll it all.

Capital One about 1 or 1.5 years ago.

Had to deposit, leave and use the app to do a transfer in parking lot. Way more effort than needed since they have my money, plus not all of the funds were available immediately. I could have done mobile deposit, but was large enough that I didn't want to chance where I was told it didn't go through.

I used to work in a bank. The only unusual thing that ever happened was one of the tellers died on duty. Her eyes rolled back in her head, and she was gone before she hit the floor. She had heart trouble, so it wasn't a complete surprise, but still pretty shocking the way it happened.

speaking along those lines. What reddentials are taken when cashing a large check at a bank? Just todaay I feel like im a victim of fraud.

I had someone cash a $1500 check. I didn't write the check. But now my acccouts are frozen since i reported the fraud. Pretty shitty if this is fraud, but I will be even more pissed if its a counter mistake by some dick wad teller..

Depends on the bank. Typically though if the person has an account at the bank in whick the check is drawn on the will cash it if the money is available. The will ask for ID as well. If the casher of the check does not have an account the will charged a fee and be finger printed.
