Anyone here use nitrogen instead of oxygen in their tires?

Just wondering. I finally noticed this when I saw green valve caps on a car and inquired as to what they were for.

I use the 78% nitrogen air. Works fine for me.

You’ll never go back. I’ve had it for the last 10 years. The ride is a little smoother but the main advantage is you never run low on air.

Nobody uses oxygen in their tires.

Do you buy that specially blended? It is readily available?

Both of those sound good.
How much per tire initially? I’m assuming you’ll need to get the tires deflated completely and refilled. And it’s not like I can just pull into a gas station and have this done.

You trying to blow us all up to smithereens, Sherlock?!

Yea you want to run water and air mix for a smoother ride and better handling.

I'll fill em with 78% nitrogen for half my usual price. !0 bucks a tire. That's a screaming deal.

Unless you're on a race track or driving at high speeds, pure N, is worthless. Also, no one puts O2 in their tires outside of the normal ambient 20%.

I run a special OT baller custom mix you can only get at Chickens garage. The TD Mix is composed of the following molecules: nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21%), argon (1%), and then trace amounts of carbon dioxide, neon, helium, methane, krypton, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, xenon, ozone, iodine, carbon monoxide, and ammonia.

I go with the 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1% argon. You can find this blend anywhere and it’s the best.

When you log in with an alter to post something that's already been posted 4 times on the same page.

OT always has the best advice, I'm glad I asked

Well dried air in my road tires and nitrogen in my track tires. The advantage at the track is more stable tire pressures during the heat cycles.
F1 typically uses nitrogen now as nitrogen and air are the only two options. In the past when the technical regs did not prohibit it teams used gasses like Tetrafluoroethane, Pentafluoroethane and Trifluoroethane.
Nitrogen does have benefits for road tires but they are small and outweighed by the trouble and cost to use it.

I use a special combination. 70% nitrogen, 20% oxygen and 10% misc. gas

I'm thinking of finding a balloon shop and filling my tires with helium to lighten the load for my engine to move down the road! Should improve my fuel efficiency at least as much as running double the speed limit does!
