What’s shaking?
I just read an article that was using these made up pronouns, Pe and per and perself...it was awful. Couldn’t finish it, it’s nonsense.

Oh, that’s awful.

I’m just watching the clock until I can get my day started; just gonna tough this out.

Well I think I slept for maybe two hours. I leave my house in a few to go to work. Looking back at the responses in this thread, I hate to say it but it’s comforting knowing that I’m not the only on suffering from this

Worked shift hours all my life over 35 years. Been retired 10+ years and I still can't sleep more then 4 hours at a time.

I’ve had the sleep study; no apnea... just shite at sleeping. Even with the maximum dose of ambien (which works better for me than lunesta) I cant sleep more than two or three hours at a time. If I’m lucky after I’m up for a while I’ll be able to go back to sleep.

But without medication I’ll sleep in 45-60 minute segments.

I’ve joked about just saying to hell with it and trying the Uberman Sleep Cycle. It worked for Tesla and de Vinci.

I’ve had bouts. In my previous job I was so stressed that I couldn’t sleep on Sunday nights. I’d lay awake all night thinking about work.

Two years and a new job later, I still have issues from time to time. But it’s getting better.

I’ve found that getting out of bed and sleeping on the couch helped. I’ve got a mummy bag that I’d zip all the way up that seemed to help. If I just lay in bed I’m done. I’ll spend hours staring at the dark.

You don't have it until you are diagnosed. Go get diagnosed and get back to us.

Any of you guys try guided meditation?
That and a few melatonin might help relax you enough to drift off to dreamland.

I go through spells. I might go weeks being ok but then weeks I struggle.
I recently started the ultra low carb diet and that seems to have helped. My wife bought me a bottle of meletonin gummies. They seem to help too. They do make me have more dreams than I normally have.

This helped me as well. I don’t have trouble falling asleep very often. I have trouble staying asleep. Sleeping on the couch with the dog is a guaranteed fix for that.
Good practice for when I really piss off my wife too.

25mg mertopurol.

Weak arse beta blocker. Works like a champ. About once a month my mind races with the business of life. If my Kindle cant slow it down I take one of those.

Works like a boss.

Thankfully, no. Insomnia is so foreign to me (except when I get superpumped for the next day, like Christmas).

It is stress. I have always struggled to sleep.

Work outs in the morning help. but it is your mind not your body that is cursing you.

Deal with your stress. Whatever issues you are worried about you need to convince yourself that you cannot do anything about them until the morning. Bonus points if you can convince yourself that a great nights sleep will allow you to do a better job resolving these problems.

Good luck.

On a positive note, many geniuses have trouble sleeping, due to the racing brain. Welcome to the club.

10 month bump. Im about to get up for the day, but Ive laid in bed since 11:30pm with my eyes closed checking my clock every hour or so.

Sometimes I wonder how much it helps to lay awake with eyes closed vs just staying awake watching TV... Insomnia is a cheating whore of a woman.
