Don't eat chocolate bars you find on the sidewalk. That's solid, if you will, advice anywhere, but particularly in SF.

Go to Oakland and visit Jack London Square
The SF zoo
Stanford campus is gorgeous
Computer History museum in Mountain View
Drive to Big Basin or Wilunderluch park for woods.

I’ll ask the wife for more suggestions when she is up.

I’ve done the SF to Yosemite and back drive, it’s no fun but doable. The exhaustion from driving 20 mph for hours takes away from the hiking a bit but we were still able to go to the el captain bridge to see the half dome.
