How you like it? I’m considering doing it to help pay off student loans and other debt. Just started talking to a recruiter. There is big financial incentives for my officer specialty. Considering all branches

I never said anything about going enlisted...I said stop playing Halloween and just go into the Regular Army aka Active Duty.

I did the Guard for 6 years. Paid for my college and got a little spending money. Besides going to Afghanistan, it wasn’t too bad.

Funny you should post this. Kicking around the idea of speaking to an officer recruiter about the Guard ...

No.

I’m not a pussy and don’t have commitment issues so I was active duty.

I have a buddy who was in the reserves and talked about how easy it was. Then Katrina hit and he spent two weeks in the Super Dome. The storys he tells about how out of control those first few days were are terrible.

Kinda wish I had when I was younger. My brother just moved back down here and plans on rejoining because he'll start at E5 and only has about 10 years to get to 20. Said he mainly just doesn't want to pay for health insurance, he's got 3 kids now so I get it.

If I was in his position I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I like it. It provides you with another revenue stream and great back up plan if your full-time position is affected by the economy. Relatively low cost insurance, TRS. I would do Navy or AF reserves though.
